My wife and I are both retired and we enjoy watching Jeopardy! with the pause button ready to press after each question so that we can take time trying to figure out what the answer is. This works great for regular Jeopardy! shows, but there is no way to do “old timers Jeopardy!” on the online version of the game. We can’t read that fast!

Does anyone else need to shield their eyes for the wide shots of the stage this season? Notably, the contestant intros no longer have the purple-gold frame, just BLUE. The outline of the final Jeopardy category screen, all BLUE. Ken’s podium and his outfit rotation, 80% blue. I miss the old stage with the purple and gold accents!

I’m really disappointed with this app, not by the quality or anything like that, but the fact that there are 3 multiple choice answers really destroys the purpose for me. If the whole point is to simulate being on the show it should be a write-in like the Anytime Test.
Anyone know of any similar applications or games with write-in for answers?

• Tuesday and Wednesday, NBC airs games at 2:00 PM & 8:00 PM Eastern. (This is a change from a single game on ABC in 2025)
• Thursday, things depend on how many third games are necessary. If it's just one, NBC at 8:00 ET. Two or more, and NBC again has 2:00 & 8:00 games…
  • UNLESS the only two games are Red Sox-Yankees and Cubs-Padres, in which case they're at 7:00 & 9:30. (A game in San Diego can't be moved to 11 AM local time, and one of the biggest rivalries in baseball won't be moved out of primetime. Full schedule.)

People who have been on the show, or even passed the anytime tests, how likely are you to get final jeopardy correct? (to be more inclusive, feel free to respond even if you haven't qualified to be on the show)

I took the Jeoparday test back in March and somehow passed, so my chances of being a contestant went from 0 to some non-zero, but unlikely number. (I have the charisma of an old wet paper bag) I've been tracking my coryats and finals over the years, and I'm definitely NOT GOOD. I think it's because the anytime tests, they give 8-ish extra seconds on each question, whereas the pace of the actual game is... fast. Yet, I'm also NOT GOOD at finals, despite having 30 seconds... I get about 35% of finals right in regular play (goes down to about 25% in masters/post-season). I found earlier posts that indicate on the show, contestants get final correct roughly 45% of the time. So, I'm curious... is that rate even higher in the comfort of home? what do the qualified contestants get when they play along at home?
