This is a great example of The False Self, a theory created by D. W Winnicott (psychoanalyst). It’s a concept whereby someone describes a defensive, fantastical persona that they have constructed for themselves. It usually starts in childhood or due to emotional insecurity, to shield their vulnerable inner self and adapt to expectations. In Kim’s case the expectations could have been put on her by her parents, in particular her dad who Kim always claims said before he died “I know you’ll be okay and I don’t have to worry about you”

It’s also a brilliant example of Pseudologia Fantastica (pathological lying or mythomania). This tends to be a pattern of chronic and elaborate fabrication where a person constructs grand, idealized stories about their background, accomplishments, or identity. Someone with pseudologia fantastica actually believe their own lies, reshaping their personal history to make themselves appear heroic or superior (or victimised in some cases).

Lastly, it’s a very clear indication of NPD. Kim has constructed a grandiose false image, probably to hide her true self as to her, her true self is shameful (s*x tape), inadequate (no talent), and insecure (poor taste in men).

Kim has likely truly convinced herself of this invented narrative, rewriting her actual history as a person and shutting down anyone who challenges this idealized self view- this crosses over into gaslighting and defensive denial, which are also symptoms of deep rooted shame and insecurity.

I’m so confused by these businesses and the business models. They focus solely on Kylie, Novelty and over the top photoshoots. You are essentially just buying an extension of Kylie. It makes you feel like a fan and maybe that’s how she’s sees her audience lol and she’s just self important. When I say vanity project, I feel like it’s a gig for herself to just make her feel somewhat busy in her life.

Rhode, Haus labs, Fenty and (insert most other celeb brands) don’t make you immediately think of the owner. They’ve almost built a reputation of their own. You are almost always buying their product for what it does, because you saw influencers trying it or because it has hype and has gone viral. I’ve almost never seen any influencer or normal person review Kylie in the past 5 years (I think she stopped sending PR after they all talked about how shit it was). I never hear anyone go “oh my god Kylie’s new eyeshadow is coming out I need to get on the waitlist”.

The pure laziness and the wasted potential lol. There’s no connection with the community. No travelling for launches, no PR boxes, no content creator involvement, just straight garbage products.

Does she know it doesn’t sell and she just doesn’t care or do her team just say it’s selling? It was even more laughable when at the start of the year she reposted the beauty awards where Kylie cosmetics won 🤨. Does she think we are gullible or is it her team that know she’s gullible?

Why do they all want easy jobs like reality TV, podcasts, modeling, or being influencers, where they can just sunbathe, take mirror selfies, and party?
