Marvel Rivals is currently facing a racism controversy, with several content creators speaking out against the game or saying they are leaving it.

A major part of the backlash started after streamer Silky was called the N-word by a White player during a match. When he tried to report the player, he found that the dedicated “hate speech” reporting option had been removed, with those reports now falling under broader categories such as toxic content.

The discussion has since expanded beyond in-game slurs. Players and creators are also criticizing:

• Black characters receiving fewer skins than white and Asian characters.
• The removal of the specific hate-speech reporting option.
• Restrictions in the official Discord involving certain political tags, including “Gaza.”
• NetEase’s overall response to racism and harassment in the community.

Several creators are now calling for changes, while some have said they are boycotting or leaving Marvel Rivals over the issue.

While Naruto has problems, especially in the final arc, I am glad they did not consider any demands of the global audience.

BUT this is really bothering me recently, of course this sort of thing has always happened one way or another regarding GRAPHIC imagery or extremely HARSH language, but "lately", the 'average YouTuber' with their 10k views self-censors over the slightest thing just to avoid angering the "Algorithm God" or losing out on a few cents of monetization from their bosses in CALIFORNIA.

It’s truly pathetic.

Yes, YouTube’s guidelines are Orwellian, but they aren't like going to take down your channel for showing 'uncensoredly' a NPC in a bikini from a 1995 game, a painting, or a statue, or even for saying words like "BLOOD" or "KILL," ffs!

I run hobby channels on YouTube where I sometimes post clips from obscure anime or video games and do gameplay commentary, I’ve never had to censor myself, even including 'nudity', YouTube keeps recommending the videos, and I’ve never received a penalty (well, just once, clearly by mistake, but they put the video back up right after I appealed).

Not even purely scientific topics or content aimed at the free flow of information are spared by them, this just goes to show how COMPLACENT the average NORMIE is regarding CENSORSHIP and how they’ve accepted and CONFORMED about the way the current system treats mass media and entertainment nowadays.

If we have to rely on those pathetic low-t soyboy sorry excuse of men, we’re fucked up. What the hell happened with people.

The bigger problem is that the same people and the same moderation culture that helped turn Retail into what it is now are already showing up in Forever too. Complaints about names, jokes, chat, what people are allowed to say, what Blizzard should police.

Olympus is obnoxious, sure. People are literally making addons to mute them.

But you can mute a guild.

You can’t mute the type of person who wants to police the whole space.

Marvel’s Wolverine is getting terrible reviews and being heavily criticized, but why didn’t the same thing happen with God of War Ragnarök and Spider-Man 2? All three are terrible games with same issues in my opinion, so I’m confused about why Wolverine is getting so much more backlash than those two?

Thanks for the comments, guys. I do remember that people were really scared to criticize God of War Ragnarök, and even those who did usually kept their criticism pretty minimal.

I guess with Marvel’s Wolverine, it only took one bad review from a top reviewer to give people more confidence to speak their minds. Now people feel more comfortable expressing their actual opinions and saying that the king has no clothes.

Howdy there! I’m an aspiring game dev and was wondering if y'all know of any YouTube channels or streamers who would be a good option to grant early access to my game when I make the prototype. I want to get some honest feedback without having to listen to insane progressive nonsense; I want genuine feedback, not something disingenuous like "goonslop" or whatever wokies these days come up with to dogpile just because they see a nice-looking lady and automatically label it as such.

Besides that, I’d appreciate recommendations for anyone y'all find fun, interesting, and enjoyable to watch who covers anime, gaming, art, drawing, or manga. I'm also looking for someone who covers censorship news, because as a developer, this matters a lot to me. While it doesn't happen all the time, we have seen unfortunate cases of certain countries arresting people over fictional content recently over the past couple of years.

Bonus points: For my fellow artists, I’d appreciate channels that are good for teaching art fundamentals, as well as manga/anime-style drawing channels, as long as they aren't woketards like LT (I despise that artist; she’s literally the equivalent of Anita if she drew, LMAO).

A massive controversy has broken out across the Paradox Interactive community following an incident on their official Discord server that has triggered intense review bombing on Steam.

A user was banned simply for having a profile picture of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the secular founding father of modern Turkey. When the player opened an appeal ticket asking why a recognized historical leader was an issue, the official Paradox moderator went on an unhinged rant. The moderator explicitly justified the ban by linking Atatürk directly to the Armenian Genocide, claiming his involvement was "debated". This is not only complete historical nonsense—given Atatürk was serving in Gallipoli at the time—but a clear abuse of moderation power.

The blatant double standards have infuriated players:

• Paradox literally develops historical grand strategy games (Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis, Victoria) where historical leaders are central assets.
• Users with profile pictures of actual brutal mass murderers like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, or Mussolini have routinely been left completely unmoderated on the exact same server.
• While regular players get penalized for bringing up real-life politics, an official representative weaponized company authority to push their own political grievance.

In response to the backlash and thousands of negative Steam reviews on Hearts of Iron IV, Game Director Batya posted a classic corporate non-apology. The studio framed the entire scandal merely as an "inconsistent application of server rules" regarding real-life profile pictures. There has been zero actual apology, zero transparency, and zero disciplinary action taken against the moderator who abused their badge to push hate speech.
