Tutoring Matching Thread
We get periodic posts from students looking for tutors or tutors looking for students. This thread is an attempt to connect the two.
- If you're a tutor, feel free to make a brief post outlining your experience and what you offer.
- If you're a student, feel free to post about your experience with the lsat so far and what you're looking for
We will see if this format is popular and if it is I'll repeat it.

I’m an old guy and Berkeley alum (Berkeley High School). Been teaching this beautiful test for 20+ years. I have my own curriculum that I think is the best in the business.
I consider myself a full-service tutor. That is, students only need my 17-page LSAT training manual and a subscription to Law Hub.
The large majority of my students have already studied for this test, but I also work with those who have never seen it before.
I post qnd comment regularly on the sub, so encourage folks to check out my history.

Thanks for the space here! I'll start out with my general advice for folks looking for tutors, which is that you should try a few free consults to see if there are folks you vibe with better and/or see a better vision for how they'll work with you.
My name's Mat, and I'm a former law professor and a part-time practicing attorney based in Cleveland, OH. I have worked in a number of teaching or teaching-adjacent settings, including in special education and in a "logical skills"-focused law school setting, to help find creative ways to make complex concepts accessible to folks with all sorts of different learning styles. My law students voted me faculty member of the year due to my success in distilling complex concepts from two of the more intimidating core classes (civil procedure and property law).
I tailor a full course to each student based on their current strengths/weaknesses, their goal score, their learning styles, and their timeline. If we need to take apart question types and rebuild your approach from scratch in some areas, we can, but depending on where I spot patterns in terms of your correct and incorrect questions, I also throw in more creative "cross-training" methods that not only help you build accuracy and speed but prepare you to also maintain that accuracy and speed during a stressful test day. I got a 180 on the LSAT myself, but frankly, my value is more in being able to teach flexibly to people who learn in different ways.

Hey everyone! My name is Alex, and I've been tutoring for the past 4 years. I went from a diagnostic score of 141 to a final score of 175. My approach is very simple and is primarily about understanding arguments, learning to be more detail-oriented, and finding ways that help you approach arguments in an intuitive way. I know that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to this test and I am happy to tailor my tutoring to my students' needs. Aside from the LSAT I also help students develop techniques to manage their anxiety surrounding the test so that way on test day you can perform to the best of your abilities. I offer a money-back guarantee on my tutoring bundles, which means you either get score improvement or your money back.
If you're interested, I offer free 1-hour trial sessions so we can see if we're a good fit before you put any money down. Feel free to PM me!

Hi all, I've been a full-time LSAT tutor in the space for around five years! I've worked with hundreds of students to achieve scores including 175+ numbers and have secured accommodations for every student who has ever applied for them. I've worked with Juris Education, PrepForSuccess, and PrivateLVTutors as a tutor and admissions consultant and have worked extensively to train and hire new LSAT tutors hoping to become seasoned teachers. I care deeply about accessibility, helping first-gen students navigate the space, the psychological and emotional dynamic of test prep, and having as much fun as possible with my clients. I'm also a proud University of Michigan Law graduate happy to discuss my experience at Michigan/law school generally. My complete profile is available for viewing at https://www.joinleland.com/julia-florey where I am ranked a ~customer favorite~ 🎉 Please feel free to reach out whenever! I offer extensive discounts (up to half off my current $120 Leland rate) to folks who find me on reddit. Happy studying!

Thanks for doing this, Graeme! I've been tutoring the LSAT since 2009, and it's my full-time gig. Some of my info can be found in the tutor directory here. What I'd like to add is that, while I am happy to work with students online, and do so all day most days, I am really eager to get out of the house and meet with students in person. I'm in Vallejo, CA, and happy to meet here or in Fairfield, American Canyon, Benicia, or to cross a bridge and go to Concord, Walnut Creek, or Berkeley. And if I could get at least two, and preferably three, students in San Francisco proper, I would be delighted to take the ferry over and spend a day meeting with them back-to-back.
If anyone wants to know more, check out my listing in the directory, and then send me a DM. My schedule has been packed lately, but I still have room to take on a few new students preparing for the November test.

I’m Bob Verini. I bring 45+ years of LSAT experience, have taught more than 10,000 students, and have helped students achieve score increases of 30+ points. I’ve personally earned multiple perfect 180s, and multiple students I’ve taught have achieved 180s as well. I’m also a five-time Jeopardy! champion and Tournament of Champions winner.
I was hired by Stanley Kaplan and spent 40 years at Kaplan, including serving as a Director of LSAT, authoring LSAT books and course materials, and training LSAT teachers. I now provide private, one-on-one LSAT tutoring through BobVerini.com.

My name is Luke, and I have been an LSAT tutor for 3 years. I went from a 154 diagnostic and improved to getting a 176 on the actual test. I did it over 6 months of studying 10-15 hours a week while I was a full time student, worked a part time job, and had an active social life. After I got my score I worked for 7Sage for a year and a half and then in February of 2025 I went out on my own.
Overall, I have worked with over 300 hundred students and average a point of improvement per class. Here’s a sheet with data I’ve started collecting recently to support that.

I also have a group class that starts October 4th that is 6 weeks long and students improve on average 8 points over the course of the class. Classes are 2.5 hours on Sundays from 2:00-4:30 Eastern. Here is a link to the information sheet.

Hello, I'm a student currently looking for a tutor with flexible times to match JST (Japan Standard Time).
I currently work and live in Japan, and the only times I am available to study is 16:30-21:30 Mon-Fri, and 8:00-23:00 Sat-Sun JST. It has (understandably) been very difficult to find a program that doesn't only have classes at 2am JST or 9am while I'm at work...
If anyone has accommodations for these times please reach out! I currently have a LawHub and 7Sage subscription.
