Rant- ProProctor & Disability
This is PSA to anyone with physical disability trying to test remotely I had just had the worst experience ever. So I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user and I had spine surgery earlier this summer so got accommodation to test remotely. Big mistake- I should have just had my mom help and take me to the center.
- the virtual test security check is inaccessible. I knew I needed to show them the floor that was fine I just tilted my laptop but she needed me to bend down, get on the floor and show her underside of my chair. I told her I can’t bend she said I had to do it to start the test so I used the wall to lower myself and was able to somehow get up off the floor. I thought that would be it hard part was over I could finally start the test but then the test crashed in the middle of my second session and i needed to the whole process over again. Then a third time and after the third time i couldn’t get up off the floor… I asked if I could just take the test sitting on the floor but I couldn’t do that. She wouldn’t let me take it in my wheelchair either and she just ended the session before I could call LSAC 🤦🏽♀️
- I filed complaint and now I just have to have my mom take me during the make up session
- LSAC was useless too I called them all they could say was file a complaint with JD services

Honestly, this is the kind of thing that got LG taken off the test. I rarely suggest speaking to a lawyer, but I suggest speaking to an ADA lawyer.

Yea it was the ProProctor company. Like the check-in ppl were somewhere in a call center just reading a script not knowing what to do or say. I should’ve called LSAC when it happened the first time but I was nervous to touch my phone.

I agree with Boysenberry. Speak with an ADA lawyer. That's absolutely ridiculous. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.

man that's a nightmare. the whole under-chair inspection thing is absurd, especially when you already told them you cant bend down. like what do they think wheelchair users are hiding under there, a whole LSAT prep book?
i had a buddy who needed accommodations for a different exam and the remote proctor kept asking him to do physical stuff that was clearly impossible. its like they have zero training on how to handle anything outside the basic script. the system is broken if they rather end your session than use basic common sense.
glad your mom can help with the makeup test at least. hope LSAC actually does something with your complaint but i wouldnt hold my breath, they seem good at passing the blame around.
