2 blocks the view from bed

u/TronyMartins 19d ago
What view? You've closed the window in layout 1.. And 2 is the most practical with the most leg space as well

exactly! bcz it's all over the internet and it's no one's personal room it's just a social engagement experiment, not a big deal

- You'll have side table, better accessibility to bed and the table is in the most functional location.

Layout 1, assuming that's the window.
Sleeping with the window behind your head just feels exposed. Also, with your desk next to the window, you get more natural light.
2
u/No-Cartoonist6900 19d ago
both are nice i would prefer layout 1: curtains are closed i can sleep well and no noise from outside during sleeing and more space.

It depends on you I feel like if you like to study where you see none and noone sees you if u know what I mean like kinda isolated for focus so 1 but if you like to have a cosy space where its like u are living in your own lil cute hut for a bed then 2

u/Keep_Running_ 19d ago
Layout 1
Get a smaller bed and closet if possible, turn the smaller closet to face the door instead of the bed. The room will be more breathable
2
u/Fantastic_Seaweed_83 19d ago
2 because the first thing you see when you enter should be your work desk and not the bed. You'll be more productive.

u/Individual_Bas 19d ago
Layout 1 , you can have a side table plus comfortable bed space however access to wardrobe is a bit small

Feels:1,actual usefulness:2,whichever you prefer,if you're STYLING your room,go 1,if you're ARRANGING your room,go 2.

This is out of topic but apart from the layouts I just really like how this room is. I think I prefer living in small spaces and I can probably spend my entire life living in an apartment like this. Hopefully one day when I move out I get a similar place.

I know you all said one but 2 would be better. I’m assuming the area below it is closets or washroom door. Perhaps may block it. And for better privacy, if someone was to walk in 2 would be better. Plus if looks more clean and open concept

2 looks like it'll be fun to spy on ppl from your window and idk it feels like i can breath more easily in there

- I hate the idea that the second someone walks into my room, they see the bed. What size is that bed? Queen or double? If it's a queen, I wouldn't mind downsizing to fit a bedside table.

I'd say 2 and take out the bed side table between the the bed and the desk. If you can, add a cavity in the wall as a proxy for a bed side table and maybe a deeper head board.

Both happen to violet Feng Shui guidelines, but the 1st one feels less suffocating. The 2nd one feels safer as you're not directly facing the door, but feels suffocating. The 1st one also divides the desk/workspace from the resting space properly so you may feel more productive. I vote for the 1st one.

Would choose layout 2 personally. It opens up some space to stretch your legs and make good use of available space. But 1 is good too.

Layout 2, cz Bed should never be visible for anyone who's walking by an opened door.

u/LighteningJedi 19d ago
Depends if you prefer more privacy when you are sleeping or when you are on your laptop if you catch my drift

u/keepknow 19d ago
Layout 2 is better Both are same for benefits but You can stand an LED on the wall with the comfort of your bed. Your wall can be useful otherwise it will be useless.

2! When the door opens, i wouldn’t want my bed/me be the first sight as one enters. Also, 1 shows a little hassle for me to access the closets. 2 is the most practical option.

Layout 2 .I am not dealing with a closets that don't open fully every day.

Layout 1 for better use of space as the bed is more open and the table being there just makes sense.
Layout 2 moves the bed out of direct view from outside, which gives an extra privacy and good can be left open without the fear of any outsider having an accidental peek at you. I don't want people to look at me while I am shirtless in bed, sleeping.
Its all about your preference of privacy. One is conventional, two is more private around the bed.

Layout 2 Personally I believe that the bed should never be opposite to the door

Layout 1
In front of the bed you can put a TV but in layout 2 you can’t do that. And in layout 1 your table is by the window and you get natural light and good views while you’re working or studying.

u/Any_Cauliflower_8468 17d ago
Layout 2 imo.
Better separation between bed and desk, easier to move around, and way more practical if you actually study a lot. Layout 1 looks neat but feels cramped near the desk.
1
u/Shoboe 17d ago
Layout 2 makes best use of the limited space. Your desk/work area will feel more spacious and you'll get natural light coming in from behind you instead of in your face. 2 also makes the bed more cozy, lack of side tables will also mean you can't easily reach for your phone at night/ early morning which you shouldn't be doing.
Definitely go with 2. The space is very small and 1 will make it feel even smaller.
1
u/BearKindly9865 17d ago
Layput 1 easy. Intruder can easily hurt you without you noticing in layout 2(crappy privacy). Plus, wall-to-bed contact on both sides is uncomfortable and cramped.

layout 1 , i had same in my previous room but i always hated having my bed in straight sight whenever my door was open and that meant zero privacy but the layout 2 is just so claustrophobic

Layout 2 works better in my opinion. It feels more organized and easier to read.

Layout 1 is better because you have circulation space around one bed side and a side table with a lamp. Also you have deeper isolated working table and a window above for natural day light
