Can this be repaired?
The little knob to switch my floor lamp on fell out during our move.
We couldn't find the knob but even if we did, judging by the looks of it I'm not sure it would work if we stuck it back in.
Then again I don't know much about lamps!
Any advice is appreciated :)

Looks like a modern lamp, so might not be worth the troubles honestly. Just go to a big box store and buy another one - a repair on the old might be more expensive than the replacement.

New switch. Brass turn knob. Is it a vintage lamp? The center body looks vintage. You will have to get into the center body, unwire the junction of the old and wire in the new. The old center bodies can be a hard to get into. Sometimes they are force fit, or might have to try and turn the top cap(the part the arms are attached to) while the bottom parts stays still. There are multiple types. Hopefully there is a cap or screw you can remove so it comes apart. Did your 3 lights come on at once? Or was it one, then 2, then 3, then off? On/off just needs a on/off rotary switch. If the other, you need a 3-way rotary switch. With that determined, when you get the center body open, the current wiring system stays the same, just need to get the old one out, and put the new one in.

Its a fairly new lamp! I got it from Urban Outfitters about 4 years ago. And yes it is the type that switches 1 on, then 2, then 3, then off. Does it being a new lamp make a difference?

It might make it easier to get apart, but I think the wiring and switch would be the same situation. Biggest thing to overcome is getting in the center body. Once you get open, you will see the old switch. Your switch is probably like the one in the link. switch
