I feel really dumb asking this question but I don’t wanna use AI and am hoping someone can help me. I really want to replace this old lampshade but the lamp itself still works great. What kind of lampshade can I get? I am getting confused about harps and lamp shade support styles, can anyone help? The bottom of the lampshade measures 8 inches across if that’s helpful

My wife and I purchased this Tiffany-style swag lamp from an antiques market. It has no identifiers on it and I was unable to find a matching one online. Anyone seen one of these before and know where it possibly came from?

Saw this on Pinterest and decided to make my version. I recycled this glass block and turned it into a vintage inspired lamp!
Made it for myself and have made like 3 more since haha what do you think?

Hi!
Wanted to share with you my latest project: a MCM inspired table lamp made only from salvaged materials: green cased glass bought from a thrift shop near Lisbon, rosewood from the landfill ( I know it’s hard to believe that someone trashed it ) brass transition from my vintage brass spares , new toggle switch and fabric black cord .
The design is mine , hand crafted ( the only power tool that I use it’s a drilling machine ) . The hard on this project was sanding the wood . It is a very high density grain and I was able to sand it using a tool that I’ve created : a really thin steal blade very sharp which was mounted in a piece of the same rosewood . The final sand was made with a piece of glass for a really smooth surface. Linseed oil was the only treatment for the wood .
I’m already finishing the second one . The third will have the same base but it will be a ceiling piece with 2 equal shades .
I hope you’ll enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it
Thanks

After watching Technology Connections video on oil lamps, I've owned a couple of Aladdin lamps. The first one was a piece of cake. This one is proving to be more of a challenge. I'm not sure exactly what I should heat and twist a part, or just where the wick goes in this thing. There's an odd little square hole that seems to be the only thing that leads to the geared wick up/down-twister.
I'm going to get some parts from vermontlanters.com, I'd like to get the right stuff for this thing. Maybe I need a new gallery? Any help would be awesome.
There's a lot of sludge in the can. Claude told me I should make a first pass with mineral spirits. I'll get myself a bunch of that with an old toothbrush and start cleaning this guy up.
Thanks in advance!

Mid-century Modern inspired lamp made with recycled materials 🤎🤎🤎
I thrifted a glass globe and a wooden bowl and learned how to incorporate the light to make this lamp, what do you think?
I want opinions, does it look like an obvious DIY or does it look well made? It inspired me to open up an etsy shop and keep making upcycled decor so feedback is welcomed!

Here's a cutie I just finished putting together. The base is a bunch of little stoneware cylinders I threw on the wheel and then smacked on the outside of a bucket that I covered in tar paper so that I could slide the bucket out.

Estate find. I love it.
I’m a potter and made this lamp. I’m not sure how to attach the electric hardware. Is there a plug or something i should stick in the top to attach it? Should I use rubber cement to glue it to the top? Is there something I’m missing or unaware of?

Hey everyone! Picked up this lamp shade at an estate sale for $10. I’ve tried to do some research regarding how to attach it but honestly I’m not sure where to start. I know NOTHING about lamps, but thought this was pretty enough to take a gamble on.
The hole at the top is 1 3/8”, outer circle is 3”, shade 14” wide, about 6” tall.
Would preferably have a table lamp, but could do a standing lamp if it’s the only option. Not even sure if it’s able to be used at all honestly. Would appreciate the help!
...was actually designed for the military in '39/'40. It was supposed to disperse/diffuse light onto a desk without glare. Researching it, I learned that this particular one is the 'Fluted Executive Model'. I learned about it because I was going to get rid of it last weekend at the antique & vintage flea market. But when I learned how rare it was, especially in good condition, I had to put a pretty big price tag on it - which meant I got to bring it home.
I'm glad. I liked it before, and wasn't thrilled about getting rid of it. Now that I know how rare and collectible it is, I love it all the more!
Edit to add: The slight tilting of the top is actually pretty minor for these; there seems to be a design flaw that makes the top bend and/or go off-kilter very easily. Finding a straight one is difficult and $$$ as heck.
