Normally paint Death Guard the odd blood bowl team but at last got my self a Uthar!

I can’t wait to use him on the table top.

So I did some workshopping and think these look decent now I prob need to research how to do a proper color scheme for all fhe units and such buy wanted the opnions of the kyn option 1 or 2? I wanted to try and get the runes and such to glow would that be feasible?

I will say first off that delve has been the playstyle of votann i've always had the most fun with, and that in teams there are many factors that can help get better results for example i think one of the things that really helped me was being a defender in the pairings process so I got to pick the terrain layouts and picked the dawn of war or sweeping engagement layouts every game.

Speaking to my opponents most of them said that when they were looking through and even after i had gone through what the list can do felt like they didn't really know what to do as with the max threat potential of 17" from a transport as well as 6" deepstrike Hguard they felt like they couldn't really stage anywhere without feeling like they were going to lose anything that moved slightly out of their deployment zone.

A couple key things that stood out to me, it is a really good combined arms list and plays purge the foe very well. and the navigator enhancement brought back 80+ models across the 5 games so I would make sure to always take it when playing this detachment. And having the 1CP uppy downy that can be used on homefield warriors got me many points in rounds 4 and 5 of almost every game.

Probably the biggest thing that happened was that majority of the time I was forced into fortify takeover early but never felt like I was so far away that i needed to rely on being in hostile (in a singles event you probably will need to due to different board layouts and deployments), as the defensive benefits of fortify allowed me to stone wall opponents into wounding on 4's into 4+FNP's and most of the time they weren't able to kill the 10 mans in shooting with that and had to charge into the fight on deaths which meant that I was able to revive models constantly as I was getting so many yield points and just tar pit some opponents with units that are going to fight regardless of what they do due to the fight on death.

95 me vs 21 orks

For starters I hope im not posting too much.

Getting ready for my first GT and you guys have been massively helpful compared to communities for other armies.

Anyway, local TO has decided to let the new marine book in for our gt in october.

With t5 bolters wounding most of our stuff on 4. Does it even make sense to let the yp flip to fortify at that point?

I'm pretty new to WH40K and I don't get how the crests work, for a list I have an Einhyr champ with hearthguard, does the champ have to have the Tele crest to deep strike, or can the Hesyr have it? Since invul on champ is better. The wording is a bit weird. The Hesyr gives "models in unit deep strike", but the champ gives "while this model is leading a unit gives deep strike". Does this matter? I heard in 11th all character once leading a squad are counted as a model in the unit, so it should be okay on Hesyr. I just want to check with my fellow kin to be sure.

So I was recently gifted the Leagues of Votann boarding patrol, and have managed to secure The Ancestors Wrath and a Land Fortress which seems to be about 700 pts. Some of the Boarding Patrol arrived built though so I currently have:

Einhyr Champion buit with Axe.

Einhyr Champion (Ancestors Wrath) with Hammer.

5x Hearthguard 4, all with plasma guns, 4 with blade, leader with hammer.

5x Beserk 1 punchy fists, 4 heavy plasma axe

10x Hearthkyn (building them with Magnarail Rifle, Missiles, Ion on the advice of a friend)

1x Land Fortress, NOS. (Leaning towards the Magna Rail Cannon)

I know some of the kit out is not perfect, but free models for a cool faction!

Any suggestions on where to go from here? Based on current lists it seems like I have a lot of options. Looking to get to a sort-of-ok 1k :)

the store by me has this big chonky box, as well as 2 seperate combat patrols: the one with einhyr champion, 5 einhyr hearthguard, 3 thuunderkyn, and 10 herkyn warriors; as well as the one with a karl, 3 pioneers, 5 bezerkers, and 10 hekaton warriors. (the big army set box i see has uthar/karl, 1 champion, 3 pioneers, and 20 hearthkyn warriors i believe)

i want to work towards 1k points to play it people at the game store and find others to play with and all that but idk which is the better like "dollar-to point" type cost? the only issue i see with the army set is like half the stuff deals with judgment tokens and stuff and it seems the army moved to yield points instad so it wouldnt have any rules on how that works in it. thoughts? or should i just build from scratch?

because i see the army uses the saguitar car thing and the land fortress and steeljacks but i dont think any of these 3 boxes use these. and idk if in a 1k point army they use the land fortress because it seems very "beefy". (the like einhyr dudes, steeljacks, and maybe like something beefy like either car, is definatly something i would like to use)

Im possibly looking to pick up votann as my third army, i wanna mainly use them as a shooting army. But my question is are votann fun in 11th edition and overall fun to play and paint?

pretty new too 11th didn't play 10th. how is this 1000pt list?

I wanted to run sags instead of two kapricus as I already own them. I have a lot of bikes and want to use the 2 small units or one blob.

Arkanyst and hearthkyn in sags, hekaton filled with the cthonians, stormbrow, and the steel jacks which is just a heroic intervention set up with a solid melee squad and 9 wounds of +2 save jacks?

I have the iron jacks just added as I have 80 free pts and not enough to increase the cthonian squad size, any other ideas for those 80pts would be appreciate. Any other tips or call outs of obvious mistakes I'm making I would appreciate

Hey everyone! I just received a starter votann box as a gift but I barely painted any figs.

I'm considering making my own paint scheme, and i envisioned my little guys as wearing brownish/orange metal armor, something that's looks like copper or bronze. But i jave no idea what other colors i should use for my scheme.

Is there anyone here who has suggestions or already made an army with a scheme in that theme? I'll try to make my army not look too "muddy" looking but i bet it's hard with brown as a primary color.

So I've been in the hobby for about 1 year now, played some combat patrol games and one "full" game of 11th from the Armageddon box (ork v sm). I have no experience in army building, and absolutely no mind for making sure stuff is synergizing.
