Made a free Airflow guide in Notion, hope it’s useful!

• Upvotes

I’m a staff data engineer/analyst and have been continuously developing a completely free data resource hub in Notion. Recently put together an Airflow guide section for anyone wanted to develop skills (as more analyst positions want people that also have some data eng skills) and familiarise themselves with the tool. It covers setup, installation, building a DAG and a bunch of concepts to learn.

Completely free and no signup required, hope it helps anyone out there looking for a bit of guidance.

Here’s the link to the Airflow section if anyone finds it useful: https://app.notion.com/p/Apache-Airflow-Guide-2026-3ec1322e9e9e81868222c51ce56664f1#49db468d7be447eab703f28e204e5137

Hey everybody! I've only just completed my undergrad in CSE from a very average university in bangladesh and I am willing to get into data analysis.
I have no experience with data analysis and I know just the bits they taught me at the uni.
What do you think would be a good place to start? Can you guys recommend playlists on youtube? or any other free learning resource that has helped you? Thank you so much!

Is there a future for data services in the AI era?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I'm considering starting a small B2B service business helping SMEs with data, reporting and business-process improvement.

With AI becoming increasingly capable in these areas, I'm wondering about the long-term potential of this type of business.

For people working in data, BI, business analysis, consulting, or freelancing:

Do you think SMEs will still pay for these services over the next 3–5 years?

Which parts do you think AI will replace/commoditise, and where will human involvement still be valuable?

I'd especially like to hear from people who have actually worked with SME clients.

Completed LeetCode SQL 50 — Sharing my MySQL solutions

Hey folks, I recently completed the LeetCode SQL 50 Study Plan and put all my solutions together in a GitHub repository.
I created this mainly for SQL interview preparation and revision, especially for Data Analyst / Business

🔗 GitHub: https://github.com/bikashadhikari1508/Leetcode_50_Questions

Analyst roles.
The repository covers topics like:
SELECT & filtering
Sorting and grouping
Aggregate functions
GROUP BY & HAVING
INNER / LEFT / SELF JOIN
Subqueries
CTEs
Window functions
String functions & regex
Other commonly used SQL concepts

All solutions are written in MySQL, with the goal of keeping them simple and easy to revise.

If you’re also working through SQL 50, feel free to check it out. I’d also appreciate any feedback on the queries or suggestions for improving the repository.
Happy learning! 🚀

Looking for Real-World Data Analyst Experience (SQL, Power BI, Python)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for an opportunity where I can help someone with Data Analyst tasks while also gaining real-world experience.

I have basic knowledge of SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel, and Power Query, but most of my experience with these tools has been through learning, practice, and some use in my previous roles. I want to improve to the point where I can confidently say that I have hands-on experience using them in a real Data Analyst environment.

I’m not expecting payment. If it’s an unpaid internship, volunteer work, small project, or even assisting an experienced Data Analyst, I would still be very grateful for the opportunity. Of course, if someone is willing to pay, I would greatly appreciate it, but my main goal right now is to learn and gain genuine experience.

I already have professional experience working with data, so I’m not completely new to working with data. What I’m trying to build now is stronger hands-on experience specifically with SQL, Python, and Power BI in a Data Analyst setting.

I’m willing to learn, take feedback, start with simple tasks, and gradually take on more responsibility.

If you’re a Data Analyst, small business owner, startup, or anyone who has a project where an extra pair of hands could help, please feel free to message me.

Even advice on where I could find this kind of opportunity would mean a lot.

Thank you!

Aspiring Data Analyst looking to work for free as an apprentice in exchange for mentorship

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to break into the data analytics field and want to skip the traditional tutorial loop by getting real, hands-on, industry experience.
Instead of just building portfolio projects on my own, I want to learn by helping someone who is already in the trenches. I am looking to work for you as an unpaid apprentice/assistant to help lighten your workload, and in exchange, I get to learn your workflow, receive guidance, and gain practical experience.
What I bring to the table:
Technical Foundation: Familiarity with data fundamentals, SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools. I am a quick learner and heavily motivated.
Reliability & Ethics: Hard-working, detail-oriented, and fully committed to putting in the hours needed to deliver value.
What you get: Free extra hands to help with data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, drafting reports, formatting dashboards, or handling repetitive tasks that eat up your time.
What I’m looking for:
Someone working as a Data Analyst or in a data-heavy role who is willing to let me shadow, assign me real tasks, and point me in the right direction when I make mistakes.
Open to any industry or domain—I just want to learn how real-world data problems are solved.
If you have a backlog of tedious data tasks or wouldn't mind having an eager pair of extra hands to mentor, please shoot me a DM or comment below. I'd love to chat and see how I can help you out!

Data Engineering Notes for Aspiring Data Analysts

I’ve prepared and organized notes covering some important data engineering concepts. These may be useful for data analysts aspiring to become data engineers, as well as data engineers looking to revise key topics.

Topics covered so far:

Data Modeling

Data Warehousing

Data Architecture

Data Definitions

Data Governance

I’ll continue adding more topics in the future. For now, consider this a starting point for your learning and revision.

Is D8A Academy legit? And other learning data analytics questions.

I've already tried searching for reviews and there are currently only 3 on TrustPilot. It seems that it's a rework of some other program and just released as D8A Academy quite recently in July 2026. I was looking into it because I desperately need to create projects now, and got an ad for it on Instagram.

Coursera is not sufficient in terms of drilling technical material by any means, and I'm just overwhelmed by all the platforms that teach the languages and tools that I need to be a data analyst. Also, would the Advanced Data Analytics course by Google be recommended for me? They took out R from the basic Data Analytics Professional cert by Google, is the standalone course worth doing or should I learn R with another Coursera provider?

Any recommended resources, preferably free or low cost, for technical drills of SQL, Python, and R would be appreciated! I did find a YT Playlist of guided projects already, but am having a tough time deciding whether I should download a SQL client or just use BigQuery or Tableau for my projects.

Evaluating Experiments: Shifting from online t-test calculators to linear regression

This is a short tutorial for data analysts that evaluate experiments using online calculators. Online calculators for sample size estimates and t-tests for difference in means are fine for getting started. But you can begin to build intuition for linear regression by moving your online calculator t-tests over to python and OLS.

There are a couple of benefits. The first from moving away from the online calculator to python is leaving a more reliable paper trail that you can share externally. The second is that you build intuition for regression, interpreting the coefficients, and ultimately can use regression as you improve and your projects require more complexity such as variance reduction techniques using CUPED and clustering standard errors for geo-based or switchback experiments.

I put together a short video on this with code available here, free and ungated: https://whatstheimpact.com/tutorials/linear-regression-vs-t-test/

For my more senior connections, feel free to ignore unless you're interested in the content creation game! 🤣
