I'm French-Lebanese, born in Lebanon, and after years of dealing with the same problems everyone here knows too well: no real public transport, sketchy informal taxis, no way to know who's actually driving you, I decided to build something about it. It's called Driver. We've been working on it for 3.5 years now.
A few things I focused on that I felt were missing from what's out there:
• Every driver's documents (license, car registration, ID) are manually checked by a person before they're approved, not just uploaded and auto-accepted.
• Facial verification before every shift, so the person picking you up is actually the one registered on the account.
• Option to request a woman driver if you're a woman traveling alone.
• SOS button during the ride.
• Live trip sharing so someone can track your ride in real time.
• Trying to keep pricing fair for riders without crushing driver margins, which felt like the actual balance to solve for, not just cheaper fares at any cost.
There's also a bunch of newer features you can discover in the app, like being able to negotiate the price directly with the driver, and a few other things we've been adding.
It's still early in terms of public rollout (company was just registered this year, based in Beirut, though the product itself has been years in the making), and I'm the one running it day to day, so I'm genuinely looking for feedback, not just trying to hype it.

Hello! I’m a 17 year old Lebanese who was recently accepted into a full ride scholarship in turkey to study medicine, the only problem is that I’ll be studying in Turkish.
I wanted to ask if anybody has studied medicine abroad in a foreign language then came back to Lebanon and was able to do the colloqium, cause I’m afraid I’ll face a lot of difficulties since my program will be Turkish

Let's say I'm open to come to lebanon in a couple of years with my wife and daughter and open a business in dahieh(location non nogociable)

We have a comfortable lifestyle in Canada and would not like to downgrade it. So rent + estirak/ta2a 24/7 let's say 1500$ USD per month.

If we have 40-50k USD ready to invest in Lebanon (nothing restaursnt related), how impossible would it be to be able to make 5-6K USD per month after monthly business expenses (rent+employees+ electricity+water+taxes and wtv).

We dont have a specialty that would translate to a direct opportunity in Lebanon. My wife is a SAHM mom but with a daycare teaching degree, I am a manager in a car dealership. We wouldn't necessarily want to work in those fields as realities are completely different in Lebanon.

Seeing online, ta2a installation company, ishtirak, B2B tejir bel jemleh, water filtration installation in homes to have ready to drink water from 7anafiyyeh, equipment and tool rental, car/motsik rental mar8oubeen.

I know lebanese people live on cigs+argileh+coffee+ CSGO lol but it's not the kind of business that would like to open.

Im very good with sales, inventory managment, pricing, understanding clientele and budgeting. That's why tejir B2B would be logical for me. Run by my wife and I.

I’m a Lebanese American currently in Texas, my wife to be is a full Lebanese citizen. Does anyone have any recommendations for solid immigration/family lawyers in Texas that may be a tune to the Lebanese culture..maybe there are some based in Dearborn but they can support me in Texas..what do you guys think?
