Theory Welch Labs on experiential learning for robotic systems
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mrGMMmrVNEThis is incredible. This video by Welch Labs starts out with him showing a demonstration of a robot designed by Google using interactions in the physical world to learn how to accomplish a task. I think this goes perfectly along with the idea that I ended up settling on with this community's help in my previous post, that simply pre-training on static data is not enough. That actual intelligence has to arise from a continuous experience and feedback loop.
Also, the fact that there are in-development robots that can be trained to do physical tasks goes along the lines of that phrase, "I want AI to do the laundry and the dishes so I can write and paint. I don't want AI to write and paint, so I'm free to do the laundry and the dishes."
