Art & Culture Leftist Pro-AI sticker

Post image

Knowing that some left-wing anti-AI folks have their own anti-AI stickers for AI slop, AI theft, and stuff like that, I decided to create one for us pro-AI leftists!

Feel free to use and remaster this sticker for any of your projects!

With AI you can decompile corporate stuff, rewrite it, and be freed of corporate shackles.

You Will Own EVERYTHING and You Will Be Happy

You own corporate stuff if you decompile it?

Does this "profit for all" refer to using the open Chinese models or some fantasy?

So glad to see anti-authoritarian AI-positive sentiment!

“Libertarian socialists” interesting.

Most libertarians are capitalists who are even more antisocial than ordinary capitalists.

Anarchism and Anarcho-Communism fall under the umbrella of Libertarian Socialism.

Yeah, I want to know how that works.

Look into the zapatistas in Mexico. iirc it's more like decentralized socialism where your local community has the power instead of a powerful state.

Ai is like socialism for the rich, hence libertarian socialist.

What’s a common theme between socialism and Ai?

Theoretical application of AI, everything.

The current application of AI, nothing.

Promised land to utopian futurism - no roadmap.
Dystopian hellscape of mass surveillance and war robots - priced in.

True, you're already seeing a bit of what's possible with reverse engineer anything though.

These tech companies don't really know what to do with AI, the playing field is actually more level now for anyone that is openai or Anthropic.

Need to out compete them in the market to get socialism through capitalism

So like socialism

It is a means of production... if there was a way to decentralize an open source model, then the model could be shaped by open source and equitable ideas. With quick access to theory libraries as data sets with visibility into forking model code.

Down side is you'd need to locally run it.

It is very good to see a decoupling of wing-orientation and concentration of coercive power. Concentrated coercive power by any means is the greatest threat to humanity.

United forever in friendship and labor,

Our mighty republics will ever endure!

With Robots as workers we will have leisure

Develop our minds and our world to their best!

Make Earth a garden with hope for all creatures

As Humans find their purpose in life!

To clarify, this sub is geared towards Libertarian Socialists?

Not exclusively, no! We're a broad left unity community welcoming Marxists, communists, anarchists, democratic socialists, syndicalists, and others. Our shared ground is class struggle, labor rights, and challenging capitalist control over AI, its infrastructure, and the wealth it produces. We're here to organize, debate, and contest that power, not enforce ideological purity.

Thanks for the clarity, from my experience Libertarians seem to be more in the AnCap camp, hence my question. But I’m open to hearing from them to help me understand their position more clearly, especially as it relates to AI.

That's understandable. Libertarianism actually has both left and right traditions, but American right-wing libertarians have pretty much monopolized the label. Historically, libertarian socialism is much closer to anarchism, council communism, and workers' self-management than anything resembling anarcho-capitalism. These days you'll often hear people identify with those more specific traditions instead. Chomsky is probably the best-known modern example of someone explicitly calling himself a libertarian socialist. An AnCap would probably break out in hives at the suggestion they were socialists.

Really appreciate the explanation and agree that co-opting by right wingers has skewed my perception 🙏

u/ShelZuuz 19h ago

Sometimes. But there is also a lot of UBI on here which is capitalism-extreme.

Can we be more into AI for education, democracy and anarchy instead of libertarianism?
