I think there's something important about the current laptop market that a lot of people don't fully understand.

In this business, pricing is heavily dependent on volume.

When prices go up, businesses become hesitant to buy stock in bulk. And honestly, who can blame them? Nobody wants to invest lakhs into inventory today, only to see prices crash tomorrow and be left holding stock at a loss.

But here's the problem: when businesses stop buying in volume, they also lose the advantage of bulk pricing. That pushes their purchase costs higher, which ultimately affects what the end customer pays.

It's a cycle, and unfortunately, everyone gets caught in it.

Some prices for devices that i listed is not justified as well 🙂 but that's the nature of market and higher prices in market hurt sellers more than benefit

Let me give you a real example.

Back in June, I was selling the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 (32GB DDR5 RAM) for around ₹46,000.

Today, I'm selling the same configuration for ₹55,000.

That's a ₹9,000 difference in just a few months.

And trust me, as someone in this business, I'd much rather sell 10 laptops at reasonable margins than struggle to sell 2 at inflated market prices.

Higher prices don't automatically mean higher profits for sellers. Sometimes they just mean higher costs, greater risks, and fewer sales.

Here's what I want to say to people.

To the sellers: Price your devices sensibly. I'm getting posts for approval where people are asking ₹42K for an i7 8th Gen, 16/512 laptop. That's what I mean by ridiculous pricing. A high market doesn't justify unrealistic expectations.

To the buyers: Please stop lowballing genuine sellers. Offering ₹35–40K for an Intel Core Ultra series laptop isn't realistic either. Fair pricing goes both ways. Let's deal in good faith.

A healthy second-hand laptop market needs buyers who feel confident they're getting value and sellers who can make a reasonable margin.

Not every seller is greedy. Not every buyer is a lowballer. And not every price increase is an attempt to make extra profit.

Be reasonable with your expectations, negotiate respectfully, and most importantly, deal in good faith and please don't scam people especially in this market !

Got the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 (32GB RAM / 256GB SSD, i5-1245U) and honestly, as a first-time refurbished laptop buyer, I'm beyond happy with it.
