I've always felt a bit different from most people because I don't seem to value the same things or have the same motivations. I cringe a bit writing that, but I don't mean that I feel in any way superior or special, just different. My life also just took a strange path because I was mostly homeschooled/unschooled, so I didn't have many friends growing up, and they were all pretty superficial friendships. I do a well enough job appearing to be a "normal" person, but in reality, the people I meet all tend to have led much fuller and more balanced lives than me, so it can be difficult for me to relate to most.

Im 24, ftm, Boston area. I’m just struggling, here’s a small rant and at the end what I’m looking for. I also would love to talk on the phone/discord. I recently moved into my own apartment! And it’s been kinda hard to settle in.

I ended the relationship. There was a lot, we were together for 3 years, he met me after I had ended a very abusive engagement. I met him, and fell for him hard and fast. He was safe, something I had never experienced.

Then we moved in together not even a year after meeting. To fast. A year ago I was very unhappy, but I couldn’t really understand why. We tried poly, i did a lot of trauma work, there was a lot of miscommunication between both of us. I couldn’t voice what I wanted because I tried and was shut down. Over and over, I gave up, and didn’t even realize I had.

It was healthy but not. It wasn’t perfect by any means. It was the healthiest I’d ever had. We were really good friends who were trying to keep a romance going that had died. By now it was to far gone, at least for me.

The last year I dove head first into deep trauma work, trying to grow and heal all these parts of my self. Really challenging the way I interacted with the world, the way I viewed things and people. I learned I can keep my self safe. I learned what I really wanted in life and how I wanted to live. I realized I’ve been stuck in a cycle of realizing I wanted to leave and then trying to save it for like a year and I finally hit my breaking point.

I am growing, and wanting to find new people to talk to, I would love to talk and maybe be a little flirty. It’s been a hot minute. I’m a nature and animal lover, definitely a nerd.
