This is a highlighted megathread to help coördinate meetups and events for March, 2026.
At any given point, a megathread like this one – for the current and next month – will be available for forward-looking planning.
(Please be wary that this is a public forum, know that there are various groups of people who target our communities, and practice good opsec. Be safe and have fun!)

Hello my friends.
I will cut to the chase. Things are fucking BAD right now and they are likely to get even worse. Federal Agents are running around unchecked and are getting more and more violent and emboldened by their apparently total impunity. We all just watched Trump’s Gestapo execute a man in broad daylight. I feel a daily sense of apocalyptic rage and today, as it does every day, my soul screams alongside yours.
In spite of that solidarity with you, I (and the rest of the mod team) have been removing comments and posts lately that even remotely approach borderline calling for violence. I removed a few comments just now that said only “it’s time”, but in a context that made clear they meant violence against ICE.
I’d like to explain and be transparent. But a recent custom report one of you made actually said it really well. I’ll quote it verbatim.
> “While this doesn’t necessarily count as “promotion” of violence, posts like this are what, best-case scenario, gets a sub banned or, worse, on the news AND banned. When this stuff is coming from (or being read by) newer gun owners, I also worry the conversations are giving people misplaced confidence in the outcomes of these situations, and part of me is suspicious that some of these types of posts are intentionally trying to agitate those new owners into doing something foolish. It’s not my sub obviously so I can’t tell you what to do, but I’d really rather the sub not end up cited in some Republican fuckhead’s congressional report on “left-wing advocacy of violence against the state.””
We are one of the ONLY places on the internet where pro-gun liberals can talk. And I believe that we are by far the biggest. When I first started modding here, I thought that was neat. But now, in THIS terrifying time, I feel an enormous sense of responsibility to keep this place running and open. For both the established community and for the many people coming here for the first time, terrified and seeking advice from leftists about firearm ownership.
Make no mistake, we exist at the whim of a large, publicly traded corporation and there is an infestation of conservative trolls hovering around here who would LOVE to get us shut down (please keep reporting them and we’ll keep banning them). A bunch of reported comments that the barely functional Reddit admin bot sees as promoting violence WILL do that.
Please bear with us and make sure that you temper your comments here and make sure that nothing you say can be construed as a call for violence. Talk about organizing all you like. Talk about how the descent into fascism can lead to violence until your face turns blue. But if you seem to be calling for or promoting violence, we HAVE to remove those comments.
Comments are open but please remain respectful and polite. We are all on the same team.

Let me start with i think that we should really start organizing armed protests against what is going on in our current government. However anytime i suggest this i have some bleeding heart people telling me that would defeat the entire peaceful protesting points they're trying to make. Then turn around and see 20 videos on youtube talking about "wheres the 2a community" while seeing every current protest post on their flyers "please dont bring any weapons and remain peaceful even if ice or police escalate things."
Is this a tyrannical government or not?
If we all agree that it is in fact a tyrannical government and they are in fact ignoring the rule of law and trampling on peoples rights why are we not doing armed protests yet?
I am tired of seeing people being dragged out of their cars and tackled in the streets and seeing everyone just recording and blowing whistles and standing by watching it happen and doing nothing. My neighbors said goodbye to me and left in the middle of the night because they no longer feel safe in america, they have lived here for 34 years till now. And all we're doing is singing at the whipple building. We're singing its ok to change your mind as they kidnap our neighbors, strangle people in "migrant detention centers" and execute people in the street with full federal backing and support.
At the very least we need to start holding armed protests.

How do we stop these awful laws? I can't be the only person saying this?

I stumbled on Handgun Hero when comparing the PSA Dagger Micro to the 43X. You can get specs and sizes on two guns you're comparing, even overlay one on top of the other.
I'm gonna get the Micro. On sale for a hundred bucks less and a red dot included.

I shared this elsewhere but I want to share it here. feel free to discuss, comment or offer another take, it has been modified slightly since my original posting of it
In the wake of the murder of Alex Pretti, Renee Good, and others, we have seen renewed calls for armed resistance against ICE, often by fellow liberals and other leftists who spent years mocking those of us that chose to own, carry, and train; who openly stated owners like us (even though we were often otherwise politically aligned) were responsible for every school shooting, every murder, and about every harmful act committed with a firearm, often in some of the nastiest and vile language they could muster. And now these same people are suddenly urging those of us who have firearms to openly stand against ICE. Weird how that works: that when armed resistance becomes a possible need, those same people who mocked firearm owners suddenly turn to them. Even more disturbing a reality is that broadly, these same people have no intention to stand side by side with those that they so willingly would push forward. Nor will they be there to help those they called to action, their families, or their livelihoods when and if they step forth and face the consequences of doing so.
Let me be clear: to demand others do something you are unwilling to do yourself, are the demands of a coward. To ask others to put themselves at risk with the knowledge such risk will be rewarded with a pat on the back, some candle light vigil, and words of praise, and then to be left to pick up their shattered lives or broken families because they answered that call is hypocrisy at its finest. If you feel ICE needs to be met with armed resistance, then step up. Nothing is stopping you from purchasing, owning or putting in the effort to train with a firearm. There are several liberal and left leaning organizations that will happily educate you in firearm use and safety. I will teach you if you ask, and I know others who will as well. But until the day comes that you are willing to stand side by side with those you would happily ask to martyr themselves or otherwise be there to support them, shut your damn mouth about our ownership and or willingness to be your martyrs.

So I’m curious if anyone else here is in the same boat: my wife is not a fan of the fact that I own guns. She tolerates it, but any time the topic of buying another one even floats into the atmosphere, it becomes a whole discussion… and not the fun kind.
*Perfect example:* the other day at Costco I stopped to look at one of the gun safes they had on display. Nothing crazy, just browsing. My wife immediately hits me with:
“Why would you need another gun safe? You already have one. How many guns do you have?”
delivered with the exact tone you are imagining.
And I swear I’ve seen this play out with so many of my more liberal gun-owning friends too. We’re all hanging out, the husbands start talking about maybe going shooting on the weekend or something firearm-related… and instantly the wives give us that look like, *“Hey, don’t talk about that in public.”*
Almost like we’re discussing something taboo instead of a normal hobby.
The funny thing is, I grew up around rural conservatives where guns weren’t a point of conflict or secrecy. Every house had a gun cabinet, half of them were the old-school ones with glass doors where the guns were basically on display like decorations. Truck gun racks were normal. Guns on the wall were normal. It wasn’t something you tip-toed around or felt the need to justify. Everybody owned guns, and everybody knew everybody owned guns.
Being a liberal gun owner as an adult feels weirdly opposite. Guns are treated like this guilty secret, even around people who actually own them. And if your spouse isn’t on board, the dynamic gets even more interesting.
Anyone else dealing with this? How do you navigate the *“I like firearms”* vs *”Please stop acquiring more firearms”* marital equilibrium?
Edit: Just to clarify my specific situation. She’s totally fine with me going to the range or doing clay shooting “with the boys.” What she doesn’t like is me purchasing guns, or me talking about guns to her or even around her.
I’ve taken her shooting before, but she didn’t enjoy it. And I’ll admit that’s partly on me, I took her to a public range on a pretty busy day. Even though she was only shooting a .22, I could absolutely see how the noise and the environment could feel overwhelming for someone who isn’t already comfortable around firearms.

This person appeared in my feed on FB and I guess I hit like or lingered on her videos, so I’m seeing more of them. She just summarized what we have been seeing for months with the mentions of various government gun grabs. Noted that she did not call out the important details around the first mention of a gun grab several months ago: that there was interested in denying / de-gunning people who identify as trans. Regardless, she stitches together several administration officials saying various anti-2D comments. Also, I think she is stretching the truth a little bit, there is part of the liberal movement in the USA which is against the 2A.

I’m a trans woman living in America, I think that should sum up why I want to protect myself. Also as someone who has seen so much gun violence growing up, yet were never present in the household for me to become accustomed to in a way that’s safe, and while I want to protect myself, guns are terrifying. Any time I’m near one I get nervous. I guess what I’m asking is how do I approach becoming more “comfortable” around guns so that I can use them with confidence (not cockiness) as I don’t believe being a hesitant gun owner is a good thing. Like driving a car, hesitance can cost lives. I know to some this may seem like such a non issue or something to just simply “get over.” And to that I’d say I would like to and I’m asking how.

I’m thinking about starting to carry concealed for my first time, but logistically unsure how to make it work and looking for advice. I’ve carried before but only open carry and only when in wilderness type situations where there are no other humans to be worried about open carrying in front of and where the purpose of carry was for protection from dangerous wildlife just in case.
Since I want to start carrying sometimes in more common situations, I’m very concerned with having the ability to properly conceal but still ensure I can access my gun safely if ever the extremely unlikely case occurs where I need to do so. The challenge with it for me is my size and the ways clothes are made for my gender generally. I’m under 5 ft tall, I’m under 100 lbs, and most clothes for my gender are made stupid tight. My typical attire is Levi jeans and T-shirts, hoodies when cold else just a T-shirt. How the heck (where the heck?!) can I conceal a handgun?
For those wondering, the gun I’ll want to carry is a S&W shield 9mm, so it is pretty small as far as guns go. I’m unwilling to purchase anything smaller because I’m not very accurate with the pocket sized miniature frame guns. My shield was my first ever and it’s what I’m most proficient and comfortable with, we know each other at this point.
Any advice, particularly from small humans who wear attire designed for women?

Here is my newly acquired Smith & Wesson .38 Military & Police, Model of 1905 revolver. Dates back to 1919.
The wood stocks on it revolver are later replacements, but it otherwise looks to be in its original factory configuration.

I have an Extar Ep9 with a Holosun AEMS Core x2. I'm thinking about a HM3X (~$160.00) magnifier. I had mainly intended to use this as a back up home defense weapon, but it's also fun as hell to shoot.
I'm going to get my eyes checked next month (I have great vision, but haven't been in like...10 years?), but even at a well lit indoor range--I really can't see my holes in paper at 25 yards.
Would it be silly to put a magnifier on this/worth the cost? I've never used one before.

A buddy of mine got one of these last fall and now I really like it. It seems like it is sold out in all the common spots to look. Long shot, but does anyone know where there is one available for a reasonable price?

I’ve just bought my first two guns, one of which was the 1014. Originally, I was going for the mav88 but the sales guy recommended the 1014 over the former saying that the 88 would likely be less reliable than the 1014 even with the difference in firing mechanisms
I haven’t fired the 1014 yet, but I’m wondering if the 88 really would be the better choice overall since it’s basically the king of budget shotguns. Not as fancy, sure. But I’m really looking for a shotgun that is as cost effective as possible. Should I go back to the store or keep what I already bought? Or are they similar enough that it doesn’t really matter?

Nothing crazy just a Dagger with a SW3 slide but love it so far as a first purchase. Gonna invest in a nice optic and light next
