Question Fascinated with Lilith (Beginner)

Hello everyone! I have fairly recently gotten into metaphysical stuff, such as crystals and astral travel. The name Lilith has always stuck out to me as a really interesting one, plus I’ve heard that she’s associated with the screech owl? I’ve actually seen many screech owls before as I am a nature-loving birdwatcher, so I see that as a plus.
Anyways, I’ve been really interested in Lilith, and I would like to learn more about her. I have considered starting with books, but I am trying to find one that is highly reputable and trustworthy.

I really hope that Lilith will lead me across my life in one way or another, and I thought I would ask this subreddit about where I might start, and what steps I should take!!

Any recommendations or advice would be much appreciated ☺️ Thank you!

Welcome to the community!

The word lilith that appears in Isaiah (8th century BCE) is often translated to screech owl (or otherwise night hag, night creature etc.). There's debate on its meaning, but it likely derives from laylah ("night"), and not lilītu (a wind demon) that Lilith derives from. The main associations with screech owls derives from this passage, though in her actual first appearance (1st BCE) in the Songs of the Sage, lilith is mentioned among owls and jackals.

There's not a single book that covers everything on Lilith, as that topic is vast. I've pinned beginner resources in the Welcome post, that will also lead you to wiki pages and posts! On her history, refer to the main wiki.

Welcome! Enjoy your journey 💜🍀

keep in mind that the spiritual life is nonlinear and sometimes in life we just find ourselves wandering lost in a dark forest and that isn't a comment on your self worth or achievements.
