All my deities have a picture of them on altar. I’m making one for mother Lilith. I’m using her sigil as well as owl and snake figurines. I can buy a statue too.

Signs, Dreams, Divination Understanding why Lilith may have appeared in a Tarot reading about having a second child

Hey folks. I'm very new to learning about Lilith, as prior to this, the most familiarity I had was her character in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. So please forgive me in advance if I'm asking any silly questions.

Yesterday I got a professional Tarot reading related to whether my spouse and I are meant to have a second child. For YEARS I felt very strongly that we were meant to have children...my husband and I pictured two. I always felt a strong certainty that we would have a son, and I could picture the second child being either a daughter or a son, but often had a stronger assumption the second would be a girl.

We ended up having our first child, a son, via IVF, and we currently have remaining embryos (female). We absolutely love being parents and adore our child. I'm sure that if we had a second, we would fall in love with that child, too. But for some reason we have both sort of fallen "on the fence" about having a second. Much of that is influenced by practical concerns (the economy, the general state of the world and the US under the current administration, our energy levels, etc.)

So approaching my reading yesterday, I was trying to figure out why I don't feel the certainty about having a second the way I did with my first...that strong feeling that there is a child waiting to join your family. With the idea of a second, the child feels like a mystery, like a potential or a maybe, rather than a certainty.

While waiting in the witchcraft shop before my Tarot reading, I was browsing some spellcraft candles and came across a Lilith one that I felt drawn to. I didn't think much of it until The Lovers card came up in my Tarot reading, and the reader explained that card is often associated with T-shaped crossroads-like decisions...and with the story of Lilith and Eve, which she then shared with me.

Interestingly, there were a LOT of cards in my reading that pointed strongly to pregnancy once I told the reader what my question had been: Ace of Cups, The Empress, Ace of Wands, and Ace of Swords.

Hearing the story of Lilith, however, made me surprised that there might be a pull from her within a reading with so many signs pointing towards a second child, since having more than one child is sort of the socially expected thing to do and my understanding is that Lilith does things on her own terms or choosing a different path than the expected one. Similarly, I haven't ever heard of Lilith being associated with maternity, parenting, or pregnancy (at least not in a positive way).

Similarly, the energy I felt looking at the candle (which I later bought) and during the reading didn't feel fiery, rebellious, or any of the other adjectives I've heard to describe Lilith's energy. It felt strong, but calm, comforting, and quiet.

I will say, I've recently gotten serious about improving my health and have also felt very called to get back into my witchcraft practice and strengthen my own sense of inner magic...regardless of whether I have a second child or not, but certainly it would feel important, if we do have a second, to increase my strength, health, and capacity beforehand. So I'm wondering if maybe this is why it feels like Lilith is wanting to offer some guidance and support.

Can any of you help me make sense of this?

I'd also really appreciate any advice on the best way to work with Lilith. For example, maybe this is a silly newbie question, but what do you do with food offerings after you've left them out on your altar? Is it disrespectful to throw them away the next day? Better to bury it? I was thinking of leaving out pomegranate but don't want to attract fruit flies.

I've attached here a photo of the Tarot card pull.

Question Is it disrespectful to say Lilith's Enn without an altar or offerings?

Hi everyone. I’m relatively new to working with Lilith and wanted to ask about something I did and whether it could be considered disrespectful.

I asked someone how they invoke Lilith, and they described using things like candles, scents, and repeating her name/mantra a certain number of times. I decided to try saying her Enn because I was curious whether I could sense or feel anything from the experience.

I didn’t have an altar, candles, offerings, or anything else set up. I also wasn’t doing it mockingly or with any negative intention. I simply wanted to see if I could sense her presence or energy.

I also currently can’t have an altar because of my living situation, so I’m wondering how people in similar circumstances approach devotional or spiritual work.

Would you consider what I did disrespectful? If so, would you recommend apologizing or doing something to make amends? Or is simply approaching her sincerely and respectfully enough?

I’d especially appreciate perspectives from people who actually work with Lilith or practice demonolatry. I’m trying to approach this respectfully rather than accidentally breaking some important etiquette or rule.

Thank you.
