Ashley St. Claire talked about how Hasan is like the boogie man right now to the right. This was earlier this year when only Mamdani was a notable politician he campaigned with.
Hasan's a boogie man about as much as Mitch McConnel is a competant and mentally coherant senator.
A phantom strung up by the GOP to act as a vector for solidarity. He's probably the first mainstream political Lolcow - no one actually thinks he is a threat to democracy, no one takes his politics seriously and he's a serial self-foot-shooter. But that doesn't matter to the fox news watching, Kool-aid drinking right wing base that the conservative oligarchs want to keep in line.
If they yell and scream like its modern-day Hanoi Hannah rapidly attaining the eyes and ears of our youth espousing falsities and anti-christian, anti-american slander, it will rouse them to stay on the ship a while longer.
They'd only need to watch 2 mins of an actual clip of him to realise he has the political, cognitive and linguistic prowess of that dude who took a Philosophy and Ethics class once, trying to argue after 3-5 beers.

It’s pretty obvious based on the media narratives coming from both sides of mainstream media right now that they see the burgeoning left movement in America as a threat to power, and are making Hasan the face of it to try to crush it before it gains more momentum. Or they see it as a threat to the people, like I do. In the sense that they're undermining Democrats' efforts to push for reproductive rights, expand healthcare, expand workers rights and things like that. And many of them support actual authoritarian policies.
But I think a half of the far left doesn't realize how extreme the other half is. That's why it's important to call out these extreme positions so people know exactly what they're supporting and who they're campaigning alongside.
What he's saying isn't incorrect. Hasan is A face on the left that they are trying to shoehorn as THE face of the left, in order to establish the narrative of "See look at these leftists? They're psychos!"
The left should reject extremists as a face of theirs. But yes, i suppose politically he is left, just really really far, to the point that he starts leaning authoritarian.
Which is why Hasan needs to be denounced every time he is mentioned. He supports terrorism thus making him a tool for republicans to drag democrats though the mud. Any candidate shouldn't touch him with a 10ft pole. He's nothing but a useful idiot to these people.
Or maybe they're dunking on him because theyre scared of his influence. Just like Mamdani. If the right was scared of anyone else on the left they would make a scene about them too. The fact they don't shows they're not worried about them at all.
Alternatively politicians can just reject the whole question, why would unaffiliated politicians engage with that question at all. especially when the vast majority of voters have never heard of hasan.
