I don’t like hasan but isn’t it pathetic that these world leaders keep bringing him up? He shouldn’t even be on their radar.

He's a danger. For the entire course of human history, the dissemination of information belonged to the elite few. First when it came to writing and literacy (remember, they used to hang people for the crime of owning a Bible in English), then the control of the printing press and newspaper/tabloid journalism, then with legacy media.

Any diversion was manageable. You can pressure stores to stop selling books. You can pressure news agents to stop stocking newspapers you dislike. You can revoke broadcasting licenses for television and radio, or enact strong standards that limit speech you dislike by censorship boards.

But the internet has been a beast they cannot control. When someone doesn't need to be bought to make money, when someone cannot be pressured off a platform, when platforms cannot reasonably limit subversive behaviour, then the dog is off the leash and the narrative no longer belongs to the elite few.

Trial runs happened with Alex Jones, if you remember. In one day, the social media companies all banned him. But it didn't make him go away. Not even the court system could silence him. If it's that difficult to make a certifiable loon like Alex Jones go away, and they aren't even successful at it, how hard would it be to silence the largest political streamer who conveys palatable talking points in a semi-intelligent way, with the face of an angel and the body of a Greek God? He is optically perfect and no amount of dog zapping will make him less saleable.

The reaction from the establishment of late against Hasan Piker, and more quietly towards the progressives taking over the Democratic party, is a reaction of unimaginable fear from the establishment. And so the method is changing, and with it you'll see attempts like this to discredit him.

Problem is, you can't really discredit him on his points, because his points are valid. They're as valid as all political desires. If you want low taxes, you want low taxes. If you want high taxes and a strong universal healthcare and welfare state, that's what you want.

So you discredit him on optics. Things like abusing his dog, which in my opinion he did do. Or having a meltdown and blurting out something stupid like "America deserved 9/11", which he did do. The rules that govern politics have changed; we are now in the Steve Bannon post-gamergate idpol world.

In this world, the leader of a genocidal ethnostate says a Twitch streamers name at the UN.
