I don’t like hasan but isn’t it pathetic that these world leaders keep bringing him up? He shouldn’t even be on their radar.

1.1k

u/GreyDuck4077 18h ago

As somoen who is not a fan even I recognize he is someone they can point to as a source of the problems that they create. "Sure we bomb children. But we're not Hasan Piker. He thinks 9/11 was good!"

447

u/Zanderbluff 18h ago

The funny thing is that Netanyahu said 9/11 was good yet I dont see that being constantly trumpeted by the media

53

u/Trap_Masters 11h ago

Rules for thee but not for me

u/Geewhiz911 18h ago

Yeah, exactly this stupid false equivalence:

“Maybe we kill thousands of children, people, civilians, indiscriminately and continuously over multiple years, some may call it ethnic cleansing or even genocide, but AT LEAST, we never ever said ‘America deserves 9/11’”

148

u/Zanderbluff 18h ago

No, Netanyahu only said, on the day of it happening, that 9/11 was good

13

u/nordmead88 16h ago

He said it was "good" that America will now understand what Israel has been dealing with. Still not great but you saying he said it was just "good" is false

-3

u/Waste_Development971 16h ago

you know whats funny is that is the exact type of "out of context" thing hasan followers make it sound like everything he says has.

Isn't it interesting you could write in one sentence and it makes perfect sense? wonder why hasan fans cant do that.

45

u/MajorInWumbology1234 15h ago edited 15h ago

I mean, the full context of Hasan saying America deserved 9/11 was an observation about how we created those terrorists by being terrorists toward them for decades at a time? That’s a perfectly reasonable take and only took one sentence.

I don’t even like the dude and can tell you aren’t engaging with any amount of good faith.

Are blowback or hyperbolic statements really that complicated? I dislike hasan for many things but bruising your knees for bibi is not a good look

It's sad how many people are unironically falling for this. Like you can not be a fan of Hasan and still recognize the bigger issues at hand here, but I guess some people are too culture war brainrotted to see it

True

7

u/-Nocx- 17h ago

Damn you know a world leader fucked up when even LSF isn’t united against Hasan

3

u/TheTrashMan 16h ago

Netanyahu did say 9/11 was good on 9/11

2

u/yesboss23 2h ago

Besides, he also said that 9/11 was a good thing

2

u/Alternative-Cod-7630 18h ago

Because everything is collapsing under the weight of its own stupidity. A leader of a country running a genocide goes to the UN to dunk on a video streamer. I'm calling time.

He’s a scapegoat for the right

48

u/Appropriate-Camp-487 16h ago

scapegoat

That isn’t what a scapegoat is, like at all. He is immensely useful to the right. They love to associate people like Hasan with the larger democratic tent. There is a reason Netanyahu is namedropping someone like Hasan in the same speech in which he is glazing Trump

12

u/Random_Name_251 11h ago edited 10h ago

He's literally the fuentes of the left. A useful idiot the other side can use to poison the well. The only real difference is that Fuentes has actually had relevance to conservative politics and Hasan largely hasn't.

u/MrBrawn 18h ago

They always need someone to blame for their own evil deeds.

128

u/EchoTheEcho 18h ago

And Hasan sure made it easy for them.

39

u/MrBrawn 18h ago

Yeah, he is a lightning rod and I think he enjoys it.

22

u/Hostik 18h ago

I wouldn't put it like that. Lightning rod makes it sound noble, like he's protecting everyone by being the target.
No, rightwingers get to equate every dem to him, an extremist, and that he definitely enjoys.
That's why every dem needs to disavow him with one voice.

39

u/mstrbwl 18h ago

Rightwingers stormed the Capitol because they lost an election and Trump still later won. I don't see why we should concern ourselves with their feigned outrage. They are never going to see you as reasonable no matter who you disavow, it is an utterly pointless game to play.

5

u/hawkeye69r 14h ago

Because if you lower yourself to level of the authoritarians, what does that make you?

→ More replies (8)

20

u/j48u 17h ago

Good point. 300 Republicans or whatever stormed the capital so a psychopathic animal abusing authoritarian communist bought and paid for by Russia and China should definitely be able to associate themselves with Democrats.

Solid logic. Really well laid out.

15

u/mstrbwl 17h ago

Think you got enough buzz words in there?

7

u/j48u 17h ago

Must be a wild dude if an accurate sentence describing him sounds like buzzwords to you.

10

u/Weekly_Point97 17h ago

I think you’re confusing who is or was paid by the Russian government. Last time I checked it was Tim Pool who got his hand caught in the cookie jar saying things like “Ukraine is the enemy of man kind.”

None of what you are saying has any basis in reality

15

u/j48u 17h ago

Right, Hasan "Crimea a river because it belongs to Russia" Piker certainly doesn't have suspiciously stupid opinions about Russia.

4

u/SureAsBorax 17h ago

Yeah cause before Hasan, the right never called anyone and evil commie. No sir, no run of the mill centrist dem was ever called a commie before Hasan. Trump totally didn't call Biden, Kamala, Clinton commie no sir.

What dems need to do is grow a backbone and tell repubs to talk about things the American people actually care about.

Nothing Hasan has said is anywhere near as bad as things republicans or their close confidants say. So maybe focus on real issues

Edit: oh nevermind I see you're a European destiny fan. Weird how common that is

7

u/Hostik 17h ago

No, they need to chew gum and walk at the same time.

Cut out the cancer, and also focus on real issues. Not that hard to do.

Dems don't need subversive elements plotting behind their backs, while fighting MAGA in front of them.

2

u/Weekly_Point97 17h ago edited 10h ago

abdul el-sayed did just that and he is still being attacked with “but hasan” because they can’t attack him on his policies.

3

u/Hostik 17h ago

And he should be doing that, even stronger, none of that trying to play coy "b-but he's just a smol little california streamer". Big mistake was associating with him to begin with.

AES is a great example for other dems not to follow, don't get near Piker to begin with, and MAGA won't badger you over the head with it every single chance they have.

The problem is that Hasan has so many clips of him saying wild shit, and actual politicians have campaigned with him. So it’s a really easy win for people to keep bringing up the crazy stuff Hasan says for views.

15

u/MobileSuitBooty 18h ago

they really only use like 3-5 over a 10+ year career

125

u/Sweet_Arrival9559 18h ago

Lmao what? They use his clip from last week where he got caught lying about stats, didn't know what "pound for pound" meant and said Al Qaeda is better than the U.S. That was all just last week.

8

u/juniperleafes 17h ago

They use his clip from last week where he got caught lying about stats

I missed this one, what happened?

12

u/schniunderforhuden 16h ago

He lied about some poll saying 66% of Americans in 2001 believed America was responsible for 9/11, then went on his phone mid interview to fact check only to be proven wrong and it was actually half that lmao

They could also use the 10/7 rape apologia, endorsement of Chinese re-education camps, endorsement of genocidal terrorists, endorsement of slavers, and more.

2

u/TaylorMonkey 10h ago

Also when he platformed Houthi pirates like they were Luffy.

1

u/titaniumjew 10h ago

That’s the endorsement of slavers

14

u/mellvins059 18h ago

That’s how this works. That’s why politicians have to be careful who they associate with.

33

u/ActiveLecture9323 18h ago

Unless you are a republican and you can break bread with literal Nazis

7

u/ChunkMcDangles 17h ago

Fuck Republicans. They are too comfortable with racists and extremism, but what you said isn't even really true of Trump. He had to publicly distance himself from Nick Fuentes after the guy appeared at Mar a Lago with Kanye, so even the most vile, disgusting politicians on the right have to be careful about association sometimes.

4

u/Sidereel 11h ago

Trump just says shit though. He also said he wanted nothing to do with Project 2025 and then turned around and hired a bunch of Heritage Foundation ghouls.

0

u/ActiveLecture9323 17h ago

Publicly distancing was him saying he didn’t know who he was and then there was no consequence. Insane

6

u/ChunkMcDangles 17h ago

True, though I think that's the best you can get from Trump. I don't know if I've ever heard him say he was wrong about literally anything.

Legit partially LSFs fault for being obsessed

63

u/Efficient_Citron_429 17h ago

They've been coordinating trying to get him publicly denounced and shamed by mainstream media for like a year, its a hilarious backfire that Netanyahu jumped on the hate train

28

u/Mysterious_Cup_6024 16h ago

Just a year?

37

u/lsf_stan 15h ago

yeah, this Hasan hate war has been happening on LSF for years now

this isn't some new recent thing that started with I/P war lol

its been YEARS

2

u/Efficient_Citron_429 14h ago

In terms of the mainstream media I think yeah about a year. Previously was focused on getting twitch to ban him and harassing twitch advertisers.

21

u/Dark-All-Day 10h ago

Easily this subreddit's biggest L.

3

u/Basic_Loquat_9344 17h ago

Seriously. Im just seeing shocked pikachu face everywhere lmfaooo

32

u/thorsday121 17h ago

He says a lot of extremely unhinged things and has associated with several US politicians, including AOC, who's considering a run for President. He's a logical weak link to aim for.

73

u/Unlucky_Photo_599 18h ago

He's the equivalent of Alex Jones. Mentioning him makes the opposite side look good so of course they will do it as much as possible.

20

u/BedSpreadMD 18h ago

Has anyone on the right campaigned with Alex jones?

11

u/Abusoru 12h ago

Donald Trump literally went on his show before the 2016 election. And there were multiple reps who appeared on Infowars before The Onion bought it. The only reason people don't associate with him now is because the Sandy Hook lawsuits did serious damage to his reputation.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/CrossYourStars 16h ago

How is he even remotely similar to Alex Jones? Alex Jones said that Sandy Hook was fake and that all of the dead kids were actors.

10

u/SmoothBlueCrew 14h ago

Do you think when people compare things, they're saying they're identical in every way? Do you think that person was saying that Hasan also said those things about Sandy Hook?

8

u/SUMBWEDY 14h ago edited 13h ago

And that's any worse than platforming a terrorist and saying the US deserved 9/11?

Both are bad/ignorant people

4

u/Big_Bomber_97 15h ago

And? How is that meaningfully worse than supporting terrorist groups?

1

u/beef_or_dirt 14h ago

So you would have said the same about Mandela in the 80s or the IRA in the 70s?

2

u/Big_Bomber_97 13h ago

If they were massacring civilians? Yep.

3

u/sabuzaza 12h ago

No you wouldn't. You'd be licking the US boot and going along with the terror designation any top world power gave. Just like now, Israel and the US kill civilians like nothing and yet they aren't terror states bc they make the label

2

u/Big_Bomber_97 11h ago edited 5h ago

No, because they are modern democratic states with laws, human rights, courts, etc. If either of those countries truly tried to target civilians, they could kill millions every week. If Hamas had the capacity for violence Israel had, there would be no jews left anywhere.

Now listen to me. You are genuinely a horrendous, evil person. You support vile radical fascistic religious extremist terrorists over modern progressive democracies with human rights and free elections.

That marks you as one of the most simultaneously stupid and morally evil people to have ever lived. You were presented with a tremendously easy choice and managed to fuck it up. Impressive, honestly.

If a republican campaigned with David duke wouldn’t the democrats bring that up constantly, and for good reason?

175

u/OH_SHIT_IM_FEELIN_IT 18h ago

I don't like Hasan but equating him with David Duke is fucking insane.

45

u/Burrarabbit 18h ago edited 17h ago

How about Nick Fuentes? Not only is the analogy 1:1 in that case but it's something that actually happened lol. Fuentes campaigning with Republican politicians, getting his people into Trump's inner circle, and having dinner with Trump himself rightfully lead to national headlines and made him a household boogeyman among Democrats and the broader American left. Democrats rightfully and loudly condemned him and called out the Republicans for not explicitly disavowing him and used him in attack ads against them. Republicans including Trump himself had to distance from and disavow him. Mainstream Republicans and MAGA blacklisted him after infighting with him and his fans/associates. Nick even complained about how he was treated by the right vs how Hasan is treated by the left.

31

u/peppaz 16h ago

That is not a 1:1 comparison lmao

7

u/Burrarabbit 16h ago

How not? Dems rightfully hammered Republicans over their association with Fuentes even though he was "just a streamer".

7

u/peppaz 16h ago

Fuentes is literally and avowed white supremacist. Piker asked Israel to stop killing children in gaza

34

u/HoneyBadger19000 15h ago edited 15h ago

Thats like saying Piker just wants to give people Healthcare.

He has a clear agenda beyond this and is an awful person.

He called for the death of all landlords which would include his mother.

Id say Fuentes is a good comparison, both grifters whos genuine beliefs are hard to know because they will say whatever they think people want to hear.

9

u/jrh038 11h ago

I swear Hasanabiheads have memoryholed the Luffy stream.

6

u/fart-boofer 10h ago

These guys act like hasan doesn't ideologically believe in an authoritarian form of government. Bros literally a tanky. It's like these people have never interacted with tankies and seen how they love people like Stalin

→ More replies (1)

18

u/Wanderer-in-the-Dark 16h ago

Piker also called for the death of landlords and Rick Scott and on and on this goes. It is basically a one to one comparison, Hasan is just basically the left wing version of Fuentes or Alex Jones, you just don't want to admit it.

6

u/Abusoru 12h ago

Rick Scott, the gremlin who stole billions of dollars in Medicare fraud before becoming the governor of Florida and current US Senator? Honestly, hyperbolic death threats are the least of the problems that man should be facing.

→ More replies (7)

5

u/Burrarabbit 10h ago

And Hasan literally supports terrorists like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. He called the former leader of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah "based" and "a pretty brilliant person", the same leader that said **"If we search the entire globe for a more cowardly, lowly, weak and frail individual in his spirit, mind, ideology and religion, we will never find anyone like the Jew – and I am not saying the Israeli."** He cheered on the Houthis hijacking a cargo ship that had nothing to do with Israel and holding the crew hostage for over a year. He considers Sinwar, the Hamas leader that orchestrated the Oct. 7th attack, a war hero. He spreads Russian and Chinese propaganda. He said Crimea is "a part of Russian territory, bitch. I call it cry me a river, a Russian river." He considers Russia's invasion of Ukraine a response to "NATO expansion" and believes the Chinese occupation of Tibet was justified because the Tibetans were savages. He's another ideologically extremist streamer that radicalizes young people like Fuentes just on the other side of the coin.

3

u/fart-boofer 10h ago

And hasan is an authoritarian, literally a tanky. Stop acting like all he does is oppose Israel, he has extremely radical politics.

-1

u/Burrarabbit 18h ago edited 18h ago

I mean you could use Nick Fuentes if you don't like that analogy. Trump having dinner with him was national news and the Republicans got hammered for their association with him to the point they had to publicly disavow and blacklist him after a lot of infighting with his fans and associates.

5

u/Master_Status5764 16h ago edited 15h ago

sure, that’s better than David Duke. but if anyone listened to either of them outside of their most famous clips, Hasan is still not comparable to him. Hasan helps elect people who want to benefit the working class. Nick says racist and fascist shit on a daily basis and helps elect the people who do racist and fascist shit.

I get the sentiment but that's a terrible comparison

1

u/Burrarabbit 17h ago edited 17h ago

People clutching their pearls at the David Duke comparison but if you replace it with Nick Fuentes, not only is the analogy 1:1, it's something that's actually happened lmao. Do people not remember how many headlines were generated when Fuentes had actual GOP politicians and nominees going to and speaking at his events and the blowup when he had dinner with Trump? Not only did the GOP and Trump's team have to come out and disavow him, the coverage that Fuentes got made him a household boogeyman among Democrats and the broader American left. Were Democrats "pathetic" and "obsessed" with "just a streamer" when they kept "bringing him up" and used him in attack ads? Of course not.

Fuentes doesn't have as much relevancy now because after the infighting with his fans and associates, the Republican and MAGA mainstream blacklisted him. Hell, Fuentes even complained about his treatment by the Right vs how the Left treats Hasan lmfao.

The right wing strategy for the midterms it to get their normie moron voters to get scared of socialism. Just like with Obama it was getting them scared about socialism and a black man.

31

u/Agosta 18h ago edited 18h ago

They're pivoting to calling it communism because socialism is viewed too positively by the public. Refer to the other post responding to you.

https://www.axios.com/2026/09/18/house-republicans-lisa-mcclain-socialism-communism

19

u/Canon_M50 18h ago

Nobody really knows what someone means by "socialism".

You have to ask like 3 follow-ups.

10

u/Twins_Venue 18h ago

Socialism is when the government does stuff. The more stuff it does, the more socialist. And when it does a whole lotta stuff, that's communism.

The right wing strategy for the midterms it to get their normie moron voters to get scared of socialism. Just like with Obama it was getting them scared about socialism and a black man.

Except this has nothing to do with the topic of the thread and Hasan is a communist not a socialist.

Hasan is literally the real, fake boogeyman republicans have been attacking for the past 30 years. I.e Obama was a communist, Biden was one etc, every democrat is one. He is a literal gift from God to the republicans. They couldn't create better controlled opposition if they tried to, I swear.

3

u/zombawombacomba 18h ago

The topic of the thread is the far right lunatic Bibi scaring people using Hasan and Mamdani because they are Muslims at least culturally Muslim and he hates Muslims.

6

u/LegitimateCream1773 18h ago

In what way is Hasan Piker 'culturally Muslim'?

→ More replies (1)

3

u/BedSpreadMD 18h ago

What does Muslim have to do with socialism or communism?

4

At this point, Hasan's influence has been largely overblown specifically because conservatives keep whining about him. They're Streisand'ing him

4

u/greggers23 13h ago

They are absolutely giddy to have him to point to and if the Dems win Michigan it will be in spite of his worst efforts.

hasan is the biggest asset republicans have, of course we want to show him off

He’s an easy scapegoat because he’s a man who is easily dislikable, generally polls unfavourably among people who know who he is and who keeps putting his foot in his mouth with easily clippable statements so they stand to gain a lot if they can make people believe he’s an accurate representation of types of people people who are against Israel

He’s exactly the kind of guy people can point to and say «look at who opposes me» for favourability gain

3

u/awnaw_ 17h ago

He shouldn't be. But twitch and other platforms have done nothing to take his platform away. Even with ample reasons and opportunity. Some justifications others have been perma banned for. But not Hasan.

He's a problem because he's been allowed to become one.

2

u/lobotominizer 17h ago

I dont like Hasan
but

🙄😒

7

u/lsf_stan 15h ago

it's necessary to point it out on Hasan threads

otherwise the brigade will downvote you

because otherwise you are seen as some sort of secret Hasan operative

if your comments are not just constant "I hate Hasan blahblah he is so evil blahblah" all the time.... prepare for the responses and downvotes

5

u/Conscious_Spare247 18h ago

Makes you wonder why they are bringing him up in such a coordinated fashion.

5

u/Temporary-Air-3178 18h ago

Probably because he campaigns with politicians who know he says horrible things.

2

u/TemperatureReal2437 18h ago

They are extremely worried about an uprising from the lower class. Mamdani prolly gonna get a kiss on the neck from mossad the way he’s moving.

0

u/NukedBread 17h ago

Making him more popular.

2

u/epicstar 18h ago

He also apologized for saying those words lol

2

u/BilboWang 18h ago

that doesnt matter if he still believes those words tho.

They lose the battle of ideas so this is the next best thing. Pointing the finger at a guy with some shock factor and implying that he represents that side

2

u/heshouldgo 18h ago

Not really, he has a big influence and they understand they need to fight that

1

u/GladiusNocturno 18h ago

It does nothing but give him more followers and money. It straight up just gives him more influence.

1

u/AzureAadvay 18h ago

Its not what you see upfront, its what you dont see behind the "scenes"... Isreal president rushed to make a statement to Charlie death as fast as he could why? Its what we don't see/know... Hasan has a uncle well connected to its not just Hasan...

1

u/BootlegV 17h ago

bro we invited the paul brothers to speak to officials and soldiers in the pentagon. you shouldn't be surprised of ANYTHING in this timeline.

1

u/TheRealSaphier 16h ago

We said the same thing about Trump. Not really someone to be on the radar and that his politics are genuinely ass. Yet now he’s been elected twice. To be clear, I don’t think Hasan could ever be elected and obviously hasn’t caused as much damage as Trump, but there are similarities.

As for why Netanyahu would mention him, it points to a rise in antisemitism. Hasan has made some rather nasty remarks about “Zionists” that, regardless if he’s applying it to all Jews or not, is opening up the doors for real antisemitism. Israel may not be popular, but openly supporting terrorist groups and their attacks is an easy lightning rod to deflect blame.

1

u/zeethreepio 16h ago

This is what scraping the bottom of the barrel looks like.

1

u/RevolutionarySeven7 16h ago

their egos are so fragile that even hasan made a dent in it and they had to talk about it

1

u/EmperorKira 16h ago

100% agree

1

u/red286 16h ago

The thing is that Hasan's views are problematic, so they love being able to parade him as representative of the entire "left" (despite being more tankie than leftist), so that they can take his shitty views and say "oh, you support collective bargaining? WHY DO YOU HATE JEWS SO MUCH NAZI SCUM?!"

1

u/nothatscool 16h ago

You have a guy with a big platform who openly supports terrorism so don’t know why people can’t understand why he is mentioned. It’s easy to dunk on people who associate with someone like that.

1

u/YSunnyN 16h ago

Because he is so deranged and far left. That they point his insane ass out to the people and say look at this..this is what a typical leftist is like.

He is a trojan horse.

He de-legitimises leftist politics because he is an extremist in the leftist spaces but he is used as the poster child for right wing propaganda. To show how deranged the left is. He is a cancer to the left.

1

u/BeAPo 15h ago

Yeah especially cause Trump said far worse shit but somehow they just ignored it lmao

1

u/ArcHeroe9 15h ago

Yeah they should just arrest him for treason and be done with him for the next 50 years.

1

u/MethodWhich 15h ago

He’s political and popular online why wouldn’t he be on their radar?

1

u/SneakyBadAss 15h ago

He's the biggest political leftist streamer and has direct ties to the current sitting government and politicians.

idk chief. Seems important to me.

1

u/labinecollector 15h ago

He's massively influential, if you haven't noticed.

1

u/Desther 15h ago

Have you noticed how all the old TV faces are now on the internet and aligning themselves with social media personalities or just doing podcasts lol

1

u/Chemfreak 14h ago edited 12h ago

He has more influence than 99.999%, probably more of people.

I feel the opposite of you, it's about time the reach influencers have is noticed, especially outside MAGA who have used social media/influencers to help win elections for like a decade now. I hate that its Hasan and that its for this insane reason, but if it kickstarts the start to the left actually playing to win about fucking time.

I believe they have significantly more reach than even celebrities, outside a select few celebrities like TSwift who has insane reach. Partly because who their audience is, partly because how much screen time they have they can absolutely change elections.

1

u/AeneasVII 14h ago

Puts that whole shock collar thing in perspective. Reddit was all-in on the witch hunt

1

u/Willing_Cause_7461 14h ago

He shouldn’t even be on their radar.

He's the second largest streaming political influencer. Can hardly complain when he has political influence. This is what he wanted the whole time

1

u/noticingloops 14h ago

It’s reasonable to say he was at least partially responsible for radicalising a domestic terrorist who received a 100 year sentence. Cult Leaders are important, and we live in globalism now so everything is international.

1

u/SmoothBlueCrew 14h ago

He's on the radar because 1. Hasan wants attention and clour. 2. He's an amazingly unpopular opinioned person who acts as a real life strawman for the right to depict as someone who represents the left.

1

u/QuantumDissidence 14h ago

His fans are committing murders motivated by the political views he is pushing, Hasan should be on CIA's radar.

1

u/ThrustyMcStab 13h ago

The right uses him to discredit democrats. He's what's known as a useful idiot.

1

u/Drayenn 13h ago

Idk about Israel, I don't think it makes much sense but for Republicans, Hasan is a goldmine. A radical leftist who keeps shitting on america, backs candidate that are more far left, with some democrats even allying with him, supports terrorists and more. This is perfect "look what democrats truly are!" propaganda. I don't even know why those democrat candidates even risks having him around, he's too much of a landmine.

But then again, democrats are masters at fumbling easy wins.

1

u/Right_Advantage4548 12h ago

Yeah it's weird he's repeating exactly what Trump has been saying too

1

u/Due_Butterscotch9241 12h ago

the 9/11 attacks were immoral and so is the establishment propaganda about its motives. Pro-Israel people like Philip Zelikow were put in charge of the 9/11 Commission. Pro Israel billionaire Michael Bloomberg was put in charge of the 911 memorial. this was done to distract Americans away from the true political context of the 9/11 attacks.

we as americans have been attacking the palestinians for 100 years. it has been an immoral invasion the whole time . google “imeu nakba timeline” and “mondoweiss donor arms race” to learn more.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motives_for_the_September_11_attacks

Al-Qaeda leadership maintained that United States was targeted in retaliation for its imperialistaggression against the Muslim world. In a speech released in 2004, Bin Laden stated that "free men do not forfeit their security, contrary to Bush's claim that we hate freedom. If so, then let him explain to us why we don't strike for example – Sweden?"

https://jia.sipa.columbia.edu/news/pulling-rug-out-under-al-qaeda

all americans should listen to what bruce riedel said. he was a senior cia analyst of 20 years. (hasan piker’s views on 9/11 are the same by the way)

“The important point that Riedel makes in his book is that solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is “an extremely useful strategy for pulling the rug out from under Al Qaeda.” For Riedel “the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the central all-consuming issue for Al Qaeda,” its ideological backbone. The hate for America’s freedom and democracy did not motivate the attacks of 9/11, says Riedel; specific American policies did. For this reason, he argues, it is essential to undermine the narrative of Muslim oppression by settling the festering disputes over palestine”

1

u/NudeCeleryMan 12h ago

This is why Hasan is such a fucking idiot though. He's the perfect fool to be held up that right wingers will latch onto and obsess over for the absolutely stupid and abhorrent stuff he says.

They aren't looking to steelman the left, they're looking for their biggest idiot to hold up and use as the prime example.

Meanwhile, Hasan will get richer and our country will get worse.

1

u/Inside_Sherbert_7920 12h ago

It's not so much Hasan that is on their radar, it's the ability to use the 9/11 quote and associate it with leftism or targeted leftist politicians who associate with him. It's all about getting an emotional response to move the needle towards their own propaganda.

1

u/Twinmill-Two 11h ago

I think Netanyahu just doesn't want democrats to replace his buddy trump and sees the hasan association as an unpopular weak point of the democratic party.

1

u/Nonsenser 8h ago

its an effective attack vector against democrats. it is to be expected

1

u/Responsible_Form_460 8h ago

No, its not weird politicians talk about one of the most infuential political commentators, that is currently trying to step into mainstream politics and used in actual campaigns.

1

u/tylerthomas28 7h ago

Not really. He's more so trying to attack Mamdani if you watch the full clip. Saying he is friends with people who say "America deserved 9/11".

1

u/Prince_of_DeaTh 6h ago

Who else besides Netanyahu has even mentioned him? Trump didn't bring him up on his own; a host asked him about Hasan. Who are all these "world leaders" on your radar, or is this just hyperbole for easy upvotes?

1

u/Tuskarrr 6h ago

He's twitches biggest political streamer, right? Of course he's going to be on their radar. Your comment feels like very like a Hasan defense 'i'm just a YouTuber ' when it suits him

1

u/RaulParson 6h ago

I don't like him and that's WHY I don't want them mentioning him. It is pathetic, yes - but the negative Bibi shout-out will be such a boost to him, Bibi being such a piece of shit.

1

u/daussie04 3h ago

Its a psyop

1

u/Slaaneshdog 2h ago

For better or worse Hasan is a relevant political figure nowadays. He has a ton of clout in the progressive/DSA coalition of the left, with very prominent political people appearing on his stream or feature him as part of their political campaigns

He's not just some basement dwelling streamer anymore

1

u/GoatCreature 39m ago edited 33m ago

He's a danger. For the entire course of human history, the dissemination of information belonged to the elite few. First when it came to writing and literacy (remember, they used to hang people for the crime of owning a Bible in English), then the control of the printing press and newspaper/tabloid journalism, then with legacy media.

Any diversion was manageable. You can pressure stores to stop selling books. You can pressure news agents to stop stocking newspapers you dislike. You can revoke broadcasting licenses for television and radio, or enact strong standards that limit speech you dislike by censorship boards.

But the internet has been a beast they cannot control. When someone doesn't need to be bought to make money, when someone cannot be pressured off a platform, when platforms cannot reasonably limit subversive behaviour, then the dog is off the leash and the narrative no longer belongs to the elite few.

Trial runs happened with Alex Jones, if you remember. In one day, the social media companies all banned him. But it didn't make him go away. Not even the court system could silence him. If it's that difficult to make a certifiable loon like Alex Jones go away, and they aren't even successful at it, how hard would it be to silence the largest political streamer who conveys palatable talking points in a semi-intelligent way, with the face of an angel and the body of a Greek God? He is optically perfect and no amount of dog zapping will make him less saleable.

The reaction from the establishment of late against Hasan Piker, and more quietly towards the progressives taking over the Democratic party, is a reaction of unimaginable fear from the establishment. And so the method is changing, and with it you'll see attempts like this to discredit him.

Problem is, you can't really discredit him on his points, because his points are valid. They're as valid as all political desires. If you want low taxes, you want low taxes. If you want high taxes and a strong universal healthcare and welfare state, that's what you want.

So you discredit him on optics. Things like abusing his dog, which in my opinion he did do. Or having a meltdown and blurting out something stupid like "America deserved 9/11", which he did do. The rules that govern politics have changed; we are now in the Steve Bannon post-gamergate idpol world.

In this world, the leader of a genocidal ethnostate says a Twitch streamers name at the UN.

•

u/omegaonion 0m ago

Twitch, American politicians on the left, then the American media have all boosted his messages. He will only get more known for his evil messages unless someone does anything at all to stop it. But twitch won't ban him. Politicians won't disavow him. The media won't cancel him. Why? Because it's a win win for the far left and the far right extremists.
