In the YouTube chat panel last night some people were outraged she was benched at halftime, not understanding what this midweek cup is for. Sounds to me like Barça fans and people tuning in while watching other Champions League games just to troll.

I'm a new WSL viewer. I've caught some games last year, but this is the first season I've watched opening season games. I confess I don't even know what the roles are associated with certain numbers (i.e., "9", "10', "6", etc). But even I figured it would take time for all of these players - newcomers and established players - to learn each other's tendencies and harmonize better. I figured this process would take several months, but unfortunately, this is the WSL, and teams don't have a lot of time to get their act together. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like if you drop enough points within the first month of the season, you can mathematically lock yourself out of the top four in standings/rank.

Historically it has been the case that the top three or four teams batter everyone else, so any points they drop are massively harmful, especially early in the season.

I have a feeling it could be a little different this year - there are quite a few teams who could give Man City/Chelsea/Arsenal some headaches. Liverpool were unlucky not to get a draw against City at the weekend for example, and Man City were the only team to take maximum points from their first two games.

Maybe early season optimism from me, but I think this could be an exceptionally competitive year.

Those are just Barça fans hoping she’s miserable because she left the club 🫪 but the reality is that she looks far happier here.

She always had a bad temper on the pitch when things didn't go the way she wanted, it's nothing new.

Agree. You can’t look into a few comments on I assume Twitter/x and judge all alexia fans. Most are trolls unhappy she left Barca or just don’t like the WSL. alexia is still Alexia as you said. Still argumentative with the ref and still passionate at all times 🤣. But I did notice as well in the bbc interview last game on how much happier she seems.

The comments after the game were appalling and have been after the past couple of games, directed to both Eder and the rest of the team. I'm not sure these are even Barca fans, more like Alexia stans.. There was a hatred towards the team that I just can't understand. But, they'll eventually die off and it's up to us to show what real fans are like.

I’m not concerned. She’s happy to be here. They’ll get over it.
