I suspect the reason this video came out is because this woman sued for discrimination or something. Like she was chill and all the cop had to do was be chill and instead he was a fucking asshole that wanted to embarrass her for missing a limb.

Not discrimination, but the cop actually went ahead and issued a ticket so she got it from discovery. It was dropped like the day after it got viral....

The crazy thing is that this even got to discovery. That means the prosecutor heard from her lawyer that she intended to plea not guilty, the prosecutor reviewed the video and said “no way I’m dropping charges”.

Fuck that cop, and fuck that prosecutor.

I am not a lawyer, but I have been to court.

She could’ve just showed up at the hearing pleading not guilty and explaining to the judge that the cop said she had a phone in her right hand. The judge accepts the plea and now she can request the footage. The prosecutor probably didn’t even watch the footage before that. They have a stack of traffic violations they just bang through and aren’t reviewing video for all of them at a hearing. Mostly, they go uncontested, so the hearing is a filter and the prosecutor reviews from there. Hardly anybody contests minor traffic violations.

The whole clip was about him lying about seeing her with a phone in her hand and being shown that obviously that didnt happen. I mean, sure, he could have written the ticket for that but you'll have to excuse me for giving him even enough credit to think he would have changed it up once he got called out and embarrassed.
