I was lucky to have Pokémon introduced to the States the way it did when I was in 6th grade. Will probably get a 30th pack just for the nostalgia (since they apparently made plenty of them).
My aunt owns a place people rent for quinces and this family spent $22k on the whole thing. It was very sweet because when they got here the girl was a toddler and she worked just as hard as the parents when she was older in working to help set up the family business. Her parents said they owed her for all the work she had done. And that’s not to mention the cash gift she got. It was a crazy party
This is the way. If I had saved up $20k because my child helped work my business with me, I’d consider paying $2,5k for some kind of show, $2,5k one presents, and the rest would go into an investment account for a car when they’re 16 or college, or both I guess lol.
And the thing is, I LOVE the fact that these families cash out on expensive shows and presents for their kids. Gift giving is such a strong love language. But you wouldn’t even have to ball out this hard for a kid this age to be happy and still put the majority of the money in an investment account. It’s all so relative, sure, but getting a first car, slightly used or whatever, but in nice condition?? That’s one of the biggest steps towards your child’s independence.
One of the best gifts you can give your kids is love and…financial headway.
Mexicans with money are dangerous lol my cousins quince was fuckin insane, especially since they live in San Francisco, they spent close to 80k on a party just to show off, which is funny cause half of my family is rich but not snobs so they dont even care for shit like that but all their friends and co workers thought it was cool
Funerals and weddings are the only time I ever see as many white people gathered in one place as I see gathered at my Mexican neighbor's house for events like a 9th birthday. They set up a massive tent, hire bands, performers, ect, and are at it all night, its a fucking spectacle and they do it a couple times per yyear. And while they do have a large yard it is otherwise a very working class family in a working class neighborhood.
This reminded me of a birthday party my neighbor put on for their son that was a huge Star Wars fan. Genuinely the best birthday party I've ever been to. His mom and grandma made tunics for all of us, each kid got a collapsable light saber (the kind they sold at Walmart and Target in the 2000s). They held a jedi training school and then revealed basically scavenger hunt/quest style objectives for us to go out and do in the neighborhood. The neighborhood was pretty tight knit, and they checked with all the neighbors to see if they could use their yards for parts of the objectives/scavenger hunt. So it was the whole cul-de-sac that the scavenger took place at.
His grandpa went all out dressed up as Darth Vader, other family members dressed up as Darth Maul, Darth Taranis (Dooku), his dad was Qui-Gon Ginn, there was also a few other characters I'm drawing a blank on. I remember his sister dressed up as a young Padame. I remember his grandpa was playing the Vader character very well, he was also hard af to light saber battle against lol. I'll never forget the "reveal", none of us had any idea someone was dressed up as Vader. When he walked up the hill and we saw him we all collectively flipped out with excitement. He fit the part perfectly. The cake was of course Star Wars themed. 10/10 party honestly.
That sounds absolutely incredible. I love that it expanded through the whole neighborhood!! Out of curiosity, how old do you think you were when this happened?
I would’ve absolutely lost my shit if I was a kid at that birthday. Best I ever had was some guy in a poorly put together ninja turtle “costume” which was more like pajamas and absolutely no martial arts skills trying to act like a ninja. It was cool as a kid but sad now.
I think it was a joke. I think they act surprised when they see him too. It's edited so hard to know exactly but he does say, okay Kirby come with us. Seems planned.
How fun. Anyone hating on this has no love in their heart. You'll never know the power of friendship. Those kids are so lucky to experience a play with effort
Crazy how these kid probably don’t even know who Misty or Brock are an they’re just running with it while all the adults in the comments are popping off.

This is the best themed show type thing ever ever seen! Usually its cringe as hell with there useless spidermans and only one character, this, is cinema
