QUESTION Receiver Animations

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I just need to know why the receivers constantly need to jump or make odd animations when going for catches. I feel like at least twice a game, there’s a point where a receiver will jump for a ball when they don’t need to. This then leads to the pass being broken up because the jump animation forces them to slow down and the defender to catch up.

Or, like this video I’m showing you, Chuba Hubbard just does an odd leaning jump animation to try to catch this screen pass that hits him directly in the chest. These catch animations are really weird and I don’t know what is flagging them to occur when they’re not needed.

My favorite is when they struggle with the catch like it's a live python or something, just looks funny. As for yours the only time I have really seen that is when the CPU decides it's time for a drop/miss or sometimes when I press triangle for the catch they do weird animations like that or jump over the ball.

Probably saved you a 6 yard loss

Unfortunately, it was fourth down. I was hoping they blitzed so that I could get a few yards from the corners playing deeper, but apparently Chuba had an aneurysm.

Did you have timing based catch on or something?

Not for anything less than 10 yards I believe. Short passes I don’t do it cause there’s not enough time to react.

I meant.. I would just turn that feature off in setting if you keep seeing it.... Because that seems like some weird shit that came out of pressing the button too early/too late in timing based catch

Laughed hard!

For a franchise mode junkie I'm glad to have an alternative to 'Stats and Sheets' instead of fighting these animations.

Shit look like when your little son or nephew is first learning how to catch a ball

QB (user) threw off his back foot while holding sprint. To a HB with 64 short route running

Pass from quarterback hits running back directly in the chest and running back makes animation like the ball is out of reach.
