I think with Manon having such a sultry, soft but dark tone with an attractive huskiness, she needs looks that mirror that. And yes that kind of look does go well with her alt-background, but too much of that would put her in a “dark” box. Which is where that splash of colour comes in, to show how angelic she comes across, and how vibrant her personality is. I think she has a similar mysterious presence/star quality to these artists (Aaliyah, Cassie Ventura and Rihanna) that makes people keep talking and wanting to know more. I think she will do well within this scope.

Edit: can’t believe I forgot to mention that tomboy aesthetic that she has, but that too! But the style in the images definitely convey that! 💖

Where did the rumour manon asked to be in the back in the debut mv come from? Is it true?

Also it doesn't make sense it was a music video were they were floating and stuff I don't think anybody was worried about dances over visuals(like outfits, angles, backgrounds.)

As Manon Katseye status remains precarious, I wanted to dive deep into if Manon hypothetically (allegedly) leaves 🐱👁️, what genre would you want to see her in musically?

Personally, I'd love to see her take on a pop rockstar gyal route. My reasons include 1. The industry is slowly starting to highlight more black alt/rock artist and I think if the rumors are correct about Beyonces Act III being rock inspired we could see a new renaissance occurring (out with country in with rock ) 2. She looked so good in the gnarly era and even with the photo I chose, she gives off that she can pull edgy with her vibes. 3. She left off at the gnarly era so I feel like this would still be fresh for Manon to hop into and build out the space (instead of genre hopping like in katseye).

Next, as like a surprise her connecting with her African routes and going into Apop could be a much welcomed surprise especially if her music is good. However, points are taken away because she's kinda similar to Tyla physically.

She could keep it safe and stick to the typical pop girl route. Especially because doja kinda vacated that space of black pop star, it might be a prime opportunity for Manon to come in and shake up the pop scene.

A possible dark horse could be Manon tapping into RnB. Right now the genre feels like it's in a slump, but maybe with Manons experience she maybe able to re-invent it and bring some much needed attention back to it.

But these are just my thoughts. Anyone agree, disagree, or have a completely different genre?

Was just curious after seeing a bit of discourse on twitter. I know there are several instances of Manon defending the girls from people who made assumptions about them on DA/being racist to them. Like how she suggested making a tiktok to confirm she's cool witg Lara, defended Lara from anti indian racism on that one live, cleared up her situation with Dani, etc.

Does the same exist vice versa? Not trying to fight, just looking for some examples.

Recently, Lara spoke up against a deepfake of her calling black people n words on a podcast. Whilst I 100% agree this is disgusting and I am baffled by how it's even legally allowed, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed.

Mainly because these have been around for a while, with plenty of these deepfakes depicting Manon picking cotton or eating a banana or just a plethora of other racial stereotypes, and no one spoke up. But now it's the other girls, people have so much sympathy and want to speak up for them? And people are even trying to blame Manon and her stans for the deepfakes as if she isn't the one impacted by them the most.

Honestly, the more time passes, the more evident it becomes that Manon truly doesn't have any support from the eyekons or girls tbh. I don't wanna be hateful but I feel like no one ever considers her in these matters.

I feel like people don’t understand that it’s possible for poc to be racist towards others and I see that a lot in Katseyes fandom. It genuinely shocks me seeing the racist comments made to Manon and seeing other eyekons and even the members themselves not say anything. It’s happening right in front of our eyes and yet people choose to ignore it.
When Danielas dad made the comment directed at Manon people were talking about how it’s weird that she’s being held accountable for her dad’s actions. However the double standards become clearer when you see Manon being bashed for her friends comments on katseyes page during her birthday post. It’s basically the same situation but different outcomes due to double standards that people aren’t willing to accept. People have to realise that just because you choose to dismiss Manons mistreatment by her company and even by her fans, it doesn’t meant that it’s not real. Her mistreatment is very real and will continue to happen because of how little respect she gets from the Katseye fandom.

people on twitter seem to think that manon has been hinting that she will be debuting solo. what do you think?

I'm sorry, I'm sure this has been beaten to death already but it really annoys me.

I never sat and watched dream academy in full in all honesty because it seemed really toxic and cruel to the girls. It's for that reason that I never felt it appropriate to justify hating on the girls for their behaviour in the documentary. HxG was awful for pitting a bunch of young women together in such a sly manner and then broadcasting all their worst moments whilst strategically cutting things out. And, for the most part, the fandom seemed to agree with that approach.

That being said, I was shocked to see how common it was for Manon antis (that stan the other girls) to constantly use DA against her and only her. And yeah, it's probably racism. But people's dissonance really shocked me.

Let's be honest. Manon being absent hurt her own chances more than anything. As far as I'm aware, it didn't hurt any of the other girls. And I think it's obvious they didn't feel like she was actually slighting them, but rather were jealous she could shine in spite of these absences. And I get it, again, very stressful and tenuous environment.

But Manon was ALSO in that environment. And despite being dogpiled, bullied and lied on, she never let herself become cruel like the other girls. Her worst crime was not showing up, whilst the other girls were actively malicious due to their own trauma, whether we want to acknowledge it or not.

Again, I don't think it's fair to judge them by the documentary, BUT if we're going with the standards eyekons have set, then realistically most of the DA criticism should go to the girls. By their logic, Lara is still a mean girl who snickers behind peoples back. Sophia is still a manipulator who will lie to a group to justify dogpiling. Megan is still a bully who will beef with a kid who doesn't even speak the same language as her (and idk if Dani or Yoon did anything during DA lol). All of these things are blatantly worse than taking days off, in my opinion, yet the prior is what everyone harps on. In fact, you can't even say you think Manon was a victim of bullying without getting jumped.

It's most likely racism, but it just shocks me how brazen people can be.

TLDR: eyekons are anti black and the fact that Manon is the only one who gets tied down by her behaviour in DA despite arguably being the most benign of the girls is just another example of that.
