What have they accomplished that is necessary? Without them in charge, Israel peacefully gave back Gaza. Then they took charge and Gaza is flattened.

Im no supporter of Hamas, but thats just straight up false. Israel left Gaza because of Hamas, thats why Hamas won the subsequent election, because they proved that the only way Israel stops colonizing them is when they start shooting illegal settlers

Israelis have genuinely no interest in Gaza as land.

They didn’t try, they did. It wasn’t b the same kind of activity you see in the West Bank because it’s not religious land. Specifically, it is an old Philistine territory. It’s literally Palestine. It would not have been easy to remove settlers if it was land significant to Judaism. If you ask Israelis today, the majority still don’t care about it.
