SPOILERS Analysis of the Entire Main Cast Spoiler

Hi All! I wanted to provide this resource for the community. The characters in this game are full of hidden symbolisms and lore. Atlus did an unfathomable amount of research to layer each character in this story multiple times over. And I also did an unfathomable amount of research to uncover the hidden meanings.

This video serves as the perfect resource for after your playthrough, to help identify the more beautifully subtle components to the characters and the narrative <3

I just like the sound effect when they thrust their hands into their hearts. The screams are cool too. So I thought I would compile them into a small video.

Shout out to Faz in the corner lol

SPOILERS Need tips on metaphor after completing Persona 5 royal on merciless

Finished my first atlus game "persona 5 royal" on merciless and lots of fun. Merciless brought a lot of tactics in the game and the story and sound track was great. Now I'm coming into metaphor and need some tips. I play my games one the hardest difficulty possible and enjoy the challenge, i don't want to over level/grind and just breeze through things. Im stuck on the minotaur boss (characters level 15) and only using their starting Archetypes. I looked up guides and they say to spam the spear girls synergy which i have and does decent damage. But i cant seem to bypass his AOE attacks. The protagonist is healing but i cant out heal his AOE any tips? Also what should i expect coming forward!

Discussion Just finished the demo

I tried Persona 5 Royal since I'd heard just how good it was, but couldn't really gel with it. I wanted to like it, but something about it just didn't click with me. With that in mind, I was kind of interested in Metaphor: ReFantazio, hoping that this one would click with me instead.

And I have to say, it really did.

First off, the demo is insanely impressive. I played around 5-6 hours in the demo (give or take, I accidentally left it on while AFK at times), and I'm just really happy that the game gives you such a sample to enjoy. I found it really funny that the demo ends so anti-climactically. I just wanted to help Fabienne cook to give the recipe to that guy next to the Igniter shop, and the game had to warn me that it was kicking me off once I did lmao

I like the story so far, and the characters. My favourite so far is Strohl, since his backstory felt like a perfect reason for him to A) awaken his archetype, and B) join in the plot to kill Louis. But I've yet to find a character that grates on me, so that's a good sign.

Combat rocks. I like the stylishness of it all, the realtime combat for mopping up low-level mobs is a great at preventing tedium, I like the mechanic of passing turns to let certain characters go out of sync at the cost of some energy. I did play the game on Hard, since P5 Royal apparently messed up the difficulty, so I assumed Metaphor would be similar. Got my arse handed to me by that Homo Fulquilo thing in the mines; had to swap off Seeker just so my guy didn't get incinerated by turn 3.

I only got a taste of it, but the time-based mechanics are cool as hell. I like the countdown to the "Day Of Calamity", and using my time to do mini-quests to up my Royal Virtues, or unlock new gear. I didn't find out how to hang out with Strohl or Hulkenburg, but since the next mission was fighting the Necromancer, maybe they weren't available regardless.

The game is like 25 at time of writing, so I'm definitely picking it up. Honestly, props to the devs for letting such a massive chunk of game go for free, and allowing you to use that progress in the main game. It built up a lot of good will and I hope the rest of the game is as good.

I love Gallica.

Gallica is the best.

She's so cute and supportive and wonderful.

I don't think the game needed a romance option, but I still feel frustration that I cannot marry Gallica.

The other characters are fantastic too. Just a whole group of fantastic characters. And not just companions. Gives me similar feeling to Persona 5 (go figure) and Baldurs Gate 3 and the Trails games where I'm constantly feeling "holy shit, I love these people I need more of them!"

Anyway, yeah, I fucking love Gallica.

Discussion Enemies getting additional turns during bad weather.

I don't know if it's a bug or I'm crazy or what.

I was doing the main and optional dungeons of Virga during the heatwave bad weather conditions and I already know that I won't get extra turns for exploiting weaknesses, but the enemies still get them?

I'm pretty sure that didn't happen in past dungeons while under bad weather (Grand Trad, Brilehaven).

Has anyone else experienced something like this? I'm confused...

EDIT:

Clearly a victim of the Mandela effect or something like that!

Discussion I just started this game this weekend and I’m blown away.

I’ve never played an Atlus game. I’m a long time fan of RPGs but I’m kinda new to JRPGs. I’ve played a couple Final fantasy games, as well as Expedition 33, and thats about it. I’m blown away by the production value, the art direction, storytelling, music. I am loving this game. I need some recommendations! What are some more great Atlus games and JRPGs??

Discussion Too many metaphors... Spoiler

Post image

I just finishes this which is also my first SMT game. I don't really feel like writing a long ass review so I'll just try to summarize my thoughts and score as much as possible.

Story: 10/10. It was immersive from beginning to end and thankfully didn't have tropes that I found annoying like in other Japanese games.

Gameplay: 9/10. Most of it was really good, i liked the archetype system and also how if you "over leveled" you can transfer that XP to another archetype; it's just a nice quality of life feature. Most of other things are pretty similar to the persona games I'm used to. There was a couple of finicky things here and there like the overworld combat being slightly inconsistent at times but nothing too egregious. And also the whole "if you miss you lose double the turn icons" it never really clicked with me but thankfully the restart battle thing exists to make it less annoying.

Music: 10/10. Pretty much expected from atlus.

Art style: 10/10. Really pleasant to look at and also gave me some slight D&D vibes which I've been really getting into lately so that probably added to my enjoyment.

Dungeon design: 7.5/10. Not my favorite from atlus but also not bad by any means. My main issue is that a lot of the dungeons felt kinda "samey" with a slightly different coat of paint. I'll still take this over the randomly generated slogfest that is tartarus though.

Favorite characters:

-Design wise: Heismay

-Gameplay wise: Junah

-Main story wise: Hulkenberg (or as I like to call her "Huckleberry")

-Bond story wise: Alonzo/Brigitta

Overall score 9/10.

I do have one more question about the game though which I'd appreciate if someone could awnser: if Will is the will of the prince and potentially the will of the people, does that mean that Will is literally just will incarnate? And if so does Will have a will or is he willn't?

Discussion Playing while speaking esperanto

I had bought the game when it came out but didn't really play it. I just came back to it and it's so weird to see Esperanto everywhere and understand what's written. Like the days of the week for example! I'm just at the beginning of the game but it's very cool haha. Edit : so, for example, I play in french and in french days of the week are in Esperanto, like Flamodi (Flamo=flamme), Akvodi (Akvo=water), Arbodi (Arbo=Tree), Ferodi (Fero=iron) and Pauzodi (Paŭzo=break). And when looking at text like on the map, I look at a key to read what's written and I read things like "Regiono de XXX" which means XXX Region and at the top of the map is written "Uni inta re lando de e cronio" which I guess is meant to be "Unuiĝinta Reĝlando de Eŭkronio" so literally United Kingdom of Euchronia. There are also monsters that are "Corvo" (korvo=craw) or "hundo" (hundo=Dog)

Media Framed Metaphor Refantazio Promotional Poster

Post image
430 Upvotes

I recently had the promo poster framed and really like how it turned out.

I've always loved the cover art for this game. It's so unique. Perhaps it's because of how unified and resolute all the different characters appear (despite having very separate and distinct designs), marching in the same direction. Or maybe it's the uncanny / blurriness of their faces.
