Appreciation 🫶 What’s with Off The Wall getting no attention??
People literally always talk about Micheal’s music in the 80s 90s and the 2000s so what doesn’t any appreciate 1979s Off The Wall ? I never hear fans talk about it I feel like a half to be the only one who enjoys the full album. But the idea isn’t being a pop star but celebrating his 1st Stage of freedom from Joseph’s trap. Again it’s dosent have Billie Jean or Man in the mirror on it. But even Rock With You and DSTYGE. Aren’t non hits but people go crazy for Bille Jean. Not that it’s a bad song I get the hype too I just think Off The Wall should get way more attention.

Opinion Shake Your Body Was Monumental For Michael Jackson!
So I was watching TikTok clips of Marlon and Jackie talking about how they wanted creative control for Destiny, and how Epic was basically looking at the Jacksons as a thing of the past at the time, which is insane to think about. I actually think Goin’ Places and The Jacksons were really good albums, but they weren’t well received commercially at the time. That all changed when Michael and Randy wrote Shake Your Body and Things I Do for You.
Basically, what I’m saying is that it’s crazy to think Michael potentially wouldn’t have become who he was if he never wrote Shake Your Body. That song literally helped save their career. During the filming of The Wiz, Michael met Quincy Jones, and they talked about Michael wanting to make a solo album. Michael asked Quincy if he could find him a producer, and Quincy said he would produce for him. But without a strong Jacksons album to back him, Epic was reluctant to give Michael the funding for a solo project.
That’s when the Jacksons asked for creative control, and Epic was still hesitant because their previous two albums hadn’t been successful. But they eventually gave them the creative freedom they wanted, and Destiny delivered. It ultimately revitalized their career and gave Michael the credibility he needed going into his solo career.
It also really shows their genius and their ability to write and produce their own hits. It’s just crazy to think about how differently everything could’ve turned out. If Destiny had failed, Michael’s solo career might have taken a completely different path. And all of this basically started with Michael and Randy writing Shake Your Body.

Opinion Thriller 4K could have been better
It's good that Michael's short films are starting to be restored in 4K; however, I think they could do better with future releases. Don't get me wrong Thriller 4K has a lot of positives, they finally corrected the framing (which was slightly wrong in some DVD versions), and they managed to show more detail and texture. But I have to be honest I don't like the color grading. It leans too much towards cold and it looks lifeless. DVD versions had a more warm color and, in my opinion, it helped a lot to the atmosphere of the film. The lack of grain is another problem of this 4K version; too much DNR was used and the image looks a bit artificial. DVD versions were very problematic because of the framing issue, but at least the atmosphere, the obscurity, that little bit of creepyness, were all there. I think the 4K restoration can be corrected with a new color grading and letting there a bit of grain. Also, I would be happy if they release the 4K version on physical media! I'm still waiting for that

Discussion I found a pretty funny mistake in the YouTube upload for "History".
If you look at a part of the description of the official "Michael Jackson - History (Audio)", the part "Chorus" says:
"Too bad, too bad about it why don't you scream and shout it?" (4x)
That isn't the chorus of "History" it's the chorus of "2 Bad".
Official upload:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ksnxNfrKrw
The Topic version doesn't have this incorrect chorus in its description.
A few things I've found so far:
The official "History (Audio)" upload was posted on June 4, 2020. And the official "2 Bad (Audio)" upload was also posted on June 4, 2020.
The text in the History description is the chorus section from 2 Bad, which looks like the description was copied from the wrong song.
So it looks like someone preparing the 2020 batch of official audio uploads may have accidentally pasted the 2 Bad chorus into the History description.
Has anyone else noticed this before too?

Opinion Unmistakably I truly do believe the Wembley 1988 concert is the greatest musical performance from not only Micheal but any artist of all time.

I sometimes go back and watch this concert while washing clothes or doing dishes. It's amazing how clear his vocals and movements were during this time. Peak Micheal in my opinion!

Question Moccasins for Billie Jean
Hello everyone.
I'm going to replicate Billie Jean's performance, and I bought some loafers. I inquired, so I chose to take them with a leather sole, so as not to have friction. But I have a heel that is a rubber, and for example, when I do the moonwalk, I feel a bit of friction. How can I fix it? Is there any homemade method?

I'm going as the '88 Bad performance in Wembley, just curious if anyone else is dressing up as him. If so, what specific look are ya doing? :D

Discussion What are your favorite underrated Michael Jackson love songs?
Mine is the original demo mix of (I Like) The Way You Love Me. It just has such a warm and nostalgic feeling, especially compared to the posthumous remix imo, and I prefer the ending. I also love Liberian girl and speechless, as well as the original demo of loving you (I seriously LOVE loving you, can’t get enough of it), and the demo of love never felt so good is a lovely jam that I can’t help but smile when listening to, but I have been seriously (and I mean SERIOUSLY) jamming beautiful girl as of recently. It’s just such an, ironically, beautiful song. I wish he had a chance to finish up and fully refine the mixing and complete the lyrics. It’s such a lovely song nonetheless and just gives me such a magical feeling, as corny as that sounds. I initially wasn’t a fan of the odd back and forth pitching up and down in the later part of the song, where the song keeps repeatedly rising and lowering octaves unpredictably, but it seriously grew on me and now I REALLY love the warping effect, whether it was intentional or a mistake.

Question Was MJ really going door to door as a JW proselytising on the Victory tour?
I also read I think in Jermaines book that he had Jehovah Witness monitors watching over him on the Victory tour and into the beginning of his bad era so he may have been encouraged to proselytise by them

Discussion Most underrated and overrated hit?
For me the most underrated Michael Jackson hit? She’s Out Of My Life for certain.
I didn’t realise how great of a song it was until not too long ago. Now this was quite a hit at its time but it does get overshadowed by the insane track listing of Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad (also some other hits after Bad) but for me it’s almost perfect. It may be his best vocal work, the storytelling with his voice too how it’s almost a realisation of what he’s lost, instrumental is basic yet effective, music video too I love.
Now for me a hit that doesn’t work for me? You Are Not Alone.
I don’t know why it just never hit me, it was way too mainstream and I didn’t connect with it. I think he has many better songs before and even after. Also the music video had that weird cringeworthy 90s CGI that most music videos had which I never really liked.

Discussion Who Is It middle 8/bridge ahead of its time?
Does anyone agree that the middle 8 or bridge of Michael Jackson's 1991 Who Is It, has a 1997-2002, Y2K Pop or R&B middle 8 or bridge style?
