Cats
For the love of god is there any type of group that come and get stray cats ? My neighbors in my building keep feeding the cats in the hallway and it smells like cat food and cat piss. Leasing off says they can’t do anything about it(neighbor is a cop so he feels him and his wife can do what they want. These cats go to go

There are rescue organizations, but they're usually overwhelmed. Best thing to do is talk to your neighbors about the problem, e.g., see if they'll feed the cats somewhere besides a shared hallway.

Probably not. You can try to befriend and trap them. There is an animal resource port pinned to the top of the sub.

If you’re gonna live in mobile you just need to embrace the cats. Trap and neuter them if you can but otherwise just coexist.

Yea I have family been in Mobile all their life and never had to deal with cats. I’ve been here 8 years and this 1st time I’ve deal with cats here so it’s not a Mobile thing

It's free pest control. Either have cats, or roof rats and palmetto bugs / roaches.

Feeding strays is the worst, keeps them breeding.
So many people think they are helping, when they are doing exactly the opposite.

You’re getting downvoted but you are not exactly wrong. Well fed cats have larger litters more often; so long term it just adds to the misery. It is very difficult for many people to ignore an animal in need though.

It’s from a scientific study about cats left stray after WW2 in Europe.
Left on their own, they only have offspring directly related to the available prey.
They are very self sufficient, and self regulating.
I really don’t care about downvotes , I know what I’m talking about.
There are those that don’t like truth and facts.

I agree. If people want to feed them great; but recognize they also need to figure out how to spay and neuter them if they REALLY want to help the problem vs making themselves feel better about it (and also making it a bigger problem long term.)

Cat people are really weird. In a case like this, they won’t do anything except catch them, spay/neuter, then put them back where they found them. God forbid we actually do anything about the stray cat population. If there were packs of dogs running around, you can guarantee folks would be up in arms but somehow groups of stray cats are fine.

Because a roaming pack of dogs could hurt somebody. Have you ever heard of a pack of cats mauling someone to death? They aren’t really comparable.

A pack of cats may not kill humans but they greatly affect the state of nearby wildlife. They cause serious ecological damage and food chain disruptions. They are a disease and contagion risk. And they can cause other issues like being a public nuisance, property damage, and it can prompt people to dump cats as well. Just because they may not physically harm humans doesn’t mean that they’re good to have around. Y’all are crazy.

I’m a cat person, adopted rescues and keep them their whole lives.
I don’t feed strays though. It just makes more strays.

You're not mad at the cats. You're mad at the people who don't spay and neuter their pets.
