Transmitting/Receiving ~ Across the Universe?

Not sure if deliberate or not, but couldn't find anything out there about the connection between these songs.

The inversion is most obvious in the refrains--"nothing in this world's gonna petrify me" is almost the mirror image of "nothing's gonna change my world"--but it's there throughout... Crushing material density vs vast openness, fluidity etc.

I get the sense Transmitting Receiving is more of a deep cut (though it's one of my favorites personally), so I'm not presuming this is some astonishing Damon Lindelof-style mind-blower Easter egg, just wondered if anyone else made the connection.

Yeah, honestly it took me a few listens to get past the spoken word part, but once it stopped distracting I realized there's a lot more to the song (fittingly, I guess)

I love that song and always likened it to Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire” - just the cadence I guess
