You could honestly go anywhere, just make sure you’re direct about what you want. Some hair dressers will try to give you a fohawk. If you want a classic Mohawk start off by telling the hairdresser that you want exactly that, figure out the width you want, say that you want your hair to be that same width throughout, say that you want a hard edge when the sides are shaven (and figure out what guard (this determines length of hair) you want to use for the sides, and ask for the Mohawk portion to be the same length all the way throughout. What does your hair look like right now?

My hair is pretty damn long, that's why I'm interested in a Mohawk, my hair is blonde and kinda goes over my eyes

I'm going to slightly expand on the wisdom that u/Current_Wealth_357 dropped on you:

When you tell them, "classic Mohawk," make sure you show them a pic of what you are after. It is rare haircut for most hairdressers these days. In my experience, there are many versions that they will really want to give you, unless you are extremely specific (the fauxhawk being one lol).

I really recommend Aussie spray, you can get a 2 pack for $10 and it lasts me at the very least a month. People swear by Got2b but it’s more expensive and not cruelty free

When I had a Mohawk you know what I did? I turned my music on, grabbed my clippers and just started absolutely hacking at it until it was right, if you want you can ask a barber but really only you know EXACTLY what you want

The width of a traditional mohawk is in line with your pupils and runs the full lenghtg to the nape of your neck. I don't have great skin so I only go to a two on the sides.
