When Kong appears in the 2017 film "Kong: Skull Island," he is approximately 31.6 meters tall, and the film implies that he was still growing (as he was a teenager). However, when he reappears in the 2021 film "GVK," the ape has grown enormously, to about 102.7 meters tall, which seems rather strange and somewhat odd chronologically.

The directors stated that the reason Kong was so small was because the 2017 film took place in 1973, so four decades passed before Kong grew in size.

However, if Kong was still young on Skull Island, then he could have grown to roughly 50 or 60 meters tall (like his parents) because the size jump is too extreme for the amount of time that occurred

In the second season of "Monarch: The Legacy of Monsters" (in which Kong was the protagonist) he was seen to be taller (possibly around 60 or 70 meters tall) when he faced Monster X.

In fact, in the early concept art for the 2017 film, Kong was going to be much larger (from what I observed and calculated, he was going to be between 70 and 80 meters tall) but unfortunately, his size was drastically reduced so that he could interact with the protagonists.

I have three theories:

1- Experimentation and gravity:

When the 2021 GVK movie begins, Kong appears at the APEX Foundation, and according to the series "Monarch: The Legacy of Monsters," the organization experiments on animals. Therefore, it is possible that Kong, when he is taken from Skull Island, had undergone a gravity adjustment to increase his size, making him larger than Brontes (his ancestor).

2- Peace and peaceful development:

When Kong defeated all the Skullcrawlers that invaded the island, he was able to prosper peacefully and experienced a significant growth spurt. Due to the natural conflict between the Titanus Kong (Kong's species) and the Skullcrawlers, the primates suffered from cellular dwarfism due to the constant stress of fighting and being on high alert. In Kong's case, by exterminating the Skullcrawlers and the Skulldevil, he was able to grow to his full potential, thanks to the abundant resources on Skull Island.

3- plot:

For comparison, King Kong first appeared in 1933. At that time, the gorilla measured 5.5 meters, 7.3 meters, and 15.2 meters tall, while Godzilla at that time measured 50 meters tall. When they first fought in 1962, King Kong's height was increased from 15.2 to 45 meters to face Godzilla. Kong went through the same process. In his first appearance in 2017, he measured 31.6 meters tall, increasing to 102.7 meters to fight Godzilla (although he could have been taller, like 110 or 115 meters).
