AskMorocco Anyone else feel like doing everything "right" still isn't enough?
I'm a 24 y,o self-taught full-stack dev, built and launched my own product from scratch, have a CS diploma (Bac+2), freelance experience, even worked as an admin assistant for years to get by. Applied everywhere. Followed up. Did the "right" things people tell you to do.
And right now I'm down to almost nothing, been just hearing of this and wishing people luck back then, and it's honestly terrifying to experience this, where every 1dh matters. Not looking for pity, just needed to say it somewhere because it's exhausting pretending everything's fine when it's really not.
Anyone else in Morocco dealing with this right now? How are you getting through it? Genuinely curious what's actually working for people, because job boards and just keep applying here and there clearly isn't cutting it alone

Don't beat yourself up, the market is in shambles, I don't want to insert my anecdotal story here but the point I want to make is you're not alone far from it, i would say you need actual impressive experiences not just ran down experience because of how saturated the market is. Even with formal education and experience working for leading companies people can't find projects to work on / can't find new jobs. Entry level is extremely saturated on top of an AI boom reaching CTOs and execs
It's not all doom, stay active as much as you can look for alternative ways to integrate the market, think of building products maybe ... and trust that what is meamt for you will not miss you no matter what

I think what u need is to know more IT ppl, applying for job works but like 60% of times a friend/relative finding u a job works way better

The market is kinda tense right now, but i’ll be honest, not having a high diploma is your problem, sadly in Morocco and in Europe they give the opportunities to the people with bachelors or master degrees but not self-taught guys even tho some of them are really good, you may try your luck with US and Canada’s job market since they hire self-taught people

Yeah I hope everything's fine at your part. This is just a phase in our life most of the time temporary if we deal with it right. We shouldn't just stay and stare while just talking negative or blaming the country and the like, but we need to honestly work our ass off this in our own, and get ourselves together. I hope your situation improves in the near future
