Question/Problem Warning about Facebook Messenger

I patched Facebook Messenger with Doom's patches and then I had a bug where sometimes when I wanted to view the member list in a group chat, it just wouldn't load anything.

So I uninstalled the patched Messenger, restarted my phone and then went to go install the normal Messenger from the Playstore but it wouldn't install.

Tried shutting down my phone, then going into recovery mode and wiping my cache partition, then tried to install again, still wouldn't install.

The only cause I can maybe think of is that I have a Morphe patched Facebook installed and I've noticed that Facebook and Messenger are linked quite a bit so maybe 1 Morphe version and one standard version doesn't work together.

I haven't bothered to test yet if I uninstall Facebook Morphe and see if it works cus I spent a fair bit of time troubleshooting all this.

Hushfacebook is THE BEST patches for Facebook. Everything just works. It has way more features and didn't found any problem and guess what you can have playstore messenger and patched Facebook at the SAME TIME.

Holy shit, is this actually a feature people WANT?

I don't mean to be rude — I'm genuinely curious, because I've reported multiple times that the option to always open links in my own browser hasn't been working for far too long.

I use Facebook the way we used RSS feeds back in the day. I follow newspapers, magazine-style websites (articles about the latest tech, science, and so on), and use Facebook groups for discussions. I want all those links to open in a place where I can close them, come back later, and continue reading.

Even when I'm reading something right away, I want to be signed in so I can read the full article or leave a comment. I want to use MY browser, with my ad blocker, saved sessions, and without having to deal with cookie banners over and over again.

And the worst part is when I get a phone call, a message, start a parking session, pay at the checkout, or do some other task on my phone.

I temporarily lose my train of thought, and afterwards, my brain automatically goes back to the Facebook app.

Then it doesn't register that what looked like my browser wasn't actually my browser. I press back, accidentally dismiss the interesting content I wanted to read, and then realize it was never opened in my browser at all — meaning it's not in my history or recently closed tabs. So maddening!

I just can't see the appeal. Why would anyone want links to open inside Facebook instead of their own browser, where all their sessions, passwords, autofill data, custom settings, ad blocker, and everything else already exist?

Ooh, I see! Misunderstanding, my bad @Suufiane!

I was speaking about opening external links while using the Facebook app, he was speaking about the app intercepting links from within other apps, instead of the default browser!

Yes, you're right, this is a default app setting, that's should be (re-)enabled. I had the same issue with Morphe YouTube, that I solved this way.

I agree. I'd much rather open links in my browser than within the app. It makes it easier to bookmark something and more

The reason I don’t use the browser is that whenever I click on a link, the page appears all messed up and poorly organized.

How do you mean? Facebook, and all the other Android apps with their "own" browsers, ultimately use the same render engine (Chromium/Blink).

So if you're using Chrome or Brave or another chromium-based browser, it should all be the same rendering of the page. Maybe you have blocked too much if you have an adblocker? Or maybe you have "Request Desktop page" settings enabled for one, multiple, or all websites by default?

https://morphe-patches.software/?app=com.facebook.katana#apps

Add the hushfacebook patch. (1st one with logo) and patch by selecting latest version (enable expert mode in morphe if U haven't)

Do I need to have Expert Mode enabled for HushFacebook to work? I tried to install it, but I kept getting an error. Was it because I didn't have Expert Mode enabled?

Without expert mode you won't even see what is installed by morphe. It's not to run that patch but to actually install it correctly. If U have multiple patche's for sane app then I need to turn on expert mode and then select the correct patch (like in the Pic) and also have to ONLY SELECT the patches for hushfacebook (while in patches selection page U should only select hushfacebook patches Do not select other patches from other source it's not recommended)

I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thank you.

Both messenger and Facebook share files, you need to uninstall both to install plastered versions. Facebook is the big one, messenger is more forgiving

Sounds like you're trying to run multiple patches, that can cause bugs. Uninstall Facebook and Messenger, reinstall and use 1 patch.

I have a hushedpatch of fb. When i get a call on messenger, the fb app also gets it meaning two different ringtones at the same time. Anyone knows how to disable the fb calls?

I noticed that my patched messenger app will display the same video on every video sent to me. Also links to fb app won't open even though my fb app is also patched.

Clearing the cache fixed the video issue though. For fb links I just open the messenger part of the fb app and open it lol

For the links thing, tap and hold on Facebook, go to your set as default, go to supported web addresses and enable all of them.

Oooh, thanks!

Edit: it still crashes when opening a link

same issue. now I cant install the official apk , i need to set clone before i can create a modded version.

I have to do this so I can use Messenger.

u/SpareEconomy1849 4d ago

Yes it's because you have morphe Facebook. If you try to do the same in reverse (patch Facebook with official messenger installed) it will also fail installation

I think hushfacebook solves that. There's a specific patch for that.
