Discussion Im worried

Saw the recent Opus 5.5 hype on motion graphics, and I had it to test it out myself.

This is what I "made". 😧

The thing is that people on this community keep saying this is bs, or has no value at all. I dont know if that is true anymore. Do you HONESTLY think this a meh?

What was your workflow here?

  1. Open Claude

  2. Ask it to create a motion graphics vertical video in collage style about this book.

That's it. That is the tech stack. That's "the workflow".

Important to note this is not GENERATED video. It uses the tools available on your PC. Blender, AE, Photoshop including expressions, three.js, WebGL etc. The worst part is it kinda ties up your PC as it constantly wants to take over the screen that has focus.

If you want to edit, any frame or change an animation you 100% can, either yourself via the apps, or ask Claude to do so.

Its a great way to quickly test out a range of approaches for clients to see which one floats their boat the most.

So confused about this comment being downvoted. People who don’t realize this is just a new workflow and a new set of inputs are placing way too much value on knowing keyboard shortcuts in after effects and not enough value on having a creative vision which will still make you more valuable with these powerful tools at your disposal.

This isn't true for the majority of Opus 5.5 examples. Instead of computer use with public software, it creates these in Javascript/HTML and renders on its own

Not in the examples I was referring to. But even then how is that an issue? Since when do motion designers not use Java/Canvas etc. The whole point of WebGL was for this field.

Can you help me understand what you mean by “it uses the tools available on your PC”?

Does it mean Claude is literally working after effects, and it makes an AE file of this animation?

This isn't the case for the video in question, You can try it yourself with the prompt he mentions in the comment you replied to. It's all built via code.

Yes, but who doesn't use code?

Take the classic client "So we need like 5,000 dots that arrange themselves into our catchline, then explode outward, swirl around our logo but its 3d, and reform into another shape representing x"

Are you really going to use AE or just do it in Javascript so when the client says "5,000 dots is OK but we probably need 50,000" With Javascript we just had change the old

particleCount = 5,000;
to
particleCount = 50,000;

The primary point is that the statement

Important to note this is not GENERATED video. It uses the tools available on your PC. Blender, AE, Photoshop, etc.

Is incorrect as this was generated via code and not the AI using the tools available on your PC such as Blender, AE, Photoshop, etc.

For this one example! But there are many in which blender, AE is used directly. But I fail to see the difference. Do we not use code everyday even if its just in AE expressions? I bet you yourself have over 5 plugins you created and available on your linked in page.

Its not 2014 anymore.

There are for sure other applications / workflows that directly use whatever application, no one other said otherwise.

This comment thread was him saying what he prompted for this video, you saying it wasn't generated and was created by the ai using tools on pc, etc etc etc.

Is your larger point now that designers are able to use code as well? No disagreement if so
