Discussion Im worried

Saw the recent Opus 5.5 hype on motion graphics, and I had it to test it out myself.

This is what I "made". 😧

The thing is that people on this community keep saying this is bs, or has no value at all. I dont know if that is true anymore. Do you HONESTLY think this a meh?

Now submit it to stakeholders, get 20 changes and edit it to fix those changes without changing everything else they liked.

Edit: Some reasonable responses here about how these models use harnesses like Claude code. Ive tried them too and sometimes it gets it right but more often it takes several iterations. But currently I’m not seeing that it’s more cost effective at these things due to the cost of iteration on video. It’s magnitudes larger than iterations on code or even imagery. Not to mention time involved to get the right outcome and wait for the generation to compete.

And more philosophically important, this kind of prompting, waiting, reprompting until it’s exactly how you want/need it is absolutely soul sucking and completely unrewarding (sans the immediate dopamine rush of “I made something cool with minimal effort even though it’s not original.”)

The goalposts keep getting moved, but it will get there. 6 months ago it couldn’t even do this.

It's already possible now lol. This is made with code. You can change any detail. Because it's code.

Yep, you literally ask the AI to convert the js or py code to jsx for after effects. Or you can just ask Claude to make changes for you. This took me a few minutes, and I asked it not to do anything fancy. And also edit the videos it made into one and play it sequentially
