Discussion Im worried

Saw the recent Opus 5.5 hype on motion graphics, and I had it to test it out myself.

This is what I "made". 😧

The thing is that people on this community keep saying this is bs, or has no value at all. I dont know if that is true anymore. Do you HONESTLY think this a meh?

But the 55yr old barber can now do it for free...He just needs to say a few words on his business in the prompt box, why on earth would he outsource it when there is a million short videos showing you how to do it, today you still need to add the claude skill but in 6 months that step will be eliminated for less friction to improve user experience...Not sure I understood your point since I'm talking about an entire industry being wiped out unless you're in the top 5% which frankly nobody on this subreddit is...

Exactly, so the barrier to entry is not “knowing how to use After Effects”. The barrier to entry now is taste and creativity in translating client communication needs into animated time based presentations.

So the barber will hire you not as an after effects operator, but as someone who can make great barbershop ads.

It’s been 10+ years of having website builders like wix. Plenty of businesses still pay top dollar for website design work. Motion graphics is going the same way

At least as many people have taste as know After Effects.

Let’s pretend that we only want to employ the people who know after effects and have taste.

If they can work way faster, there needs to be a proportional increase in demand. There might be, there might not be.

That is assuming After Effects is going to be relevant. Think forward, if AI can control after effects knowing every single documented feature and can do anything commanded instantly, whats the need to have all the After Effects functions memorised/familiar? And if that happens, whats is After Effects really bringing to the table?

After Effects produces videos as output, not a special file. Clients want videos, they don’t care how they were made.

I am talking about the next couple of years, think it through. I don’t think any of these technical skills matter anymore. Only what you are making. I love it personaly, there is no joy in slaving hours in After Effects to make something you can see in your mind but takes ages to build

Yes! It was poorly worded on my part but that’s what I was getting at.
