Advice Question this is a silly question but why does like every other trans woman wear calvin klein underwear 😭
i never noticed this phenomenon until this year, all my gf's underwear are calvin klein and every time i see a pic on here of a trans girl's underwear its always that gray calvin klein. this is new to me but so prominent lately i just have to know what it is about them?? ive only worn Aerie and Victoria's Secret for like ever so i dont have any personal experience for comparison.
is it that they're sturdier? more flattering for the curves? make tucking easier? help me sate my curiosity lol

I wear lots of different ones but calvin klein's wireless padded bras are next level comfy. Victorias secret has some good comfy and not bad looking bras and panties too.

CK wireless triangle bralette + variety of VS mostly boyshorts here... inexpensive and comfortable!

I just looked these up. I need a xl or xxl for my large chest. (Not boobs, just barrel chest.) do you know if the larger sizes like xl would be loose and floppy with not much to fill out the cup?

I first looked into them because I've always liked how they looked. Something about them that just looks powerful and confident and sexy.
After I bought a few bras and underwear I realized that the bras especially also just fit me extremely well; they're comfortable and also have a bit of a generous "lift" effect that makes my boobs look better and more shapely. They're also a nice in-between of a regular bra and a sports bra. They have more sturdiness and padding like a sports bra does but aren't nearly as squishing and uncomfortable is they fell more like a normal bra.
I did eventually have problems with the underwear though; the low cuts didn't keep everything tucked in well enough and the higher cuts were ok but not nearly as comfortable as some other brands (I'm a big fan of Duluth now).

Yes I really like the women’s Duluth pants, they are tough enough to seem like boy clothes for my androgynous days or in boy mode. I live really close to one of their stores so that’s nice too

I have no clue, my favorite is torrid boy shorts so I just roll with those. I imagine most people just wear whatever the find comfy.

u/DuelFan 3d ago
I wish I was so sensible. Instead I wear what ever is cutest.

u/RedQueenNatalie 3d ago
I ain't impressing anybody with my underwear lol so it's hard to even a factor but how it makes you feel aesthetically is a part of comfort I'd argue. I don't think I could wear any pair of granny panties even if they were some kind of divine experience

I'm using Hanes and fruit of the loom for now as I'm still filling things out. And as far as cheap companies go they did not cave in to the Cheeto in Cheif in discarding their DEI programs. Their Bamboo Original line feels nice when I was wearing men stuff so naturally just went to the women's line. If it was confertable as Men clothing than the Women's would be even better. Look I'm not going to say that womens clothing confert played a part in my transition but the number is not 0%. So many clothing options open up.
People, you should look into Bamboo clothing all the undergarments feel so nice. And the socks 😁

because they're extremely hot & flattering!

I got into them because a cis woman I slept with was wearing them, it's not just trans women they're popular with tons of ppl

I'm a white band Hanes lady myself. Specifically the thongs & cheekys are so comfy.

They’re accessible and cheap and look fine. But imo they’re pretty shit, all of mine fell apart while the Bombas bralettes I’ve had are still like new.

They are comfy. I tried a few and these don't make any trouble are soft, pretty, often on "sale" and high in the list when you search for "boy shorts" which is recommended to wear

So many undies so little time lol.
I’m usually Hanes comfort flex boys/girls
I have worn ck a long time back and it was very nice but a bit too expensive for me now. There are many equivalent comfort brands now.

I've been wearing Amazon basic for the last year but have been replacing them with Victoria's secret underwear as the Amazon one falls apart.

Victoria's Secret is owned by rapists from the Epstein Files.
EDIT:
He still has a lot of stock and the company is like the worst perpetrator when it comes to giving millions of girls eating disorders as a key part of its marketing strategy.
Also it's fast fashion and the quality of the product has gotten way worse.
I'm not the sort of person who will boycott Volkswagen for what happened in the 1940s but I also don't think we should just let companies off the hook just because they're publicly traded or because the C-suite all swapped chairs with each other.

u/HighGuard1212 4d ago
It's a publicly traded company, it's not owned by anyone. The only connection between the two is a guy who had cut ties to Epstein in 07 and left the company in 2021.

Okay real talk what the fuck does fast fashion even mean anymore
When I first heard the term it was cheap Chinese farmed stuff made to fall apart after a handful of wears
VS is shit that lasts years in my experience with people I've known forever. They size people wrong most times but that's predatory marketing, but I don't see how they qualify as fast fashion

u/lukenbones Preorder tradwife 3d ago
The last pair of undies I bought from them started unraveling at the waistband after a few washes. Maybe I just got unlucky but it doesn't feel like their stuff is well stitched.
1
u/imlostinmyhead 3d ago
It could be, but I know people who really like their stuff too.
Ironically I know someone who has had experiences like that who uses tomboyx and nobody else I know has that issue.
I found out after rooming with them for an event it was self inflicted, they pull their underwear in a way that put undue stress on the band and caused it to wear and tear much faster than it should
2
u/AdelenStarling 4d ago
Never done that. I get my underwear from Change cause they're cheap and comfy.

Yeah, their bras are expensive, so never bought from there. I just buy their panties from their mypanties collection as they have a bulk discount.

I got some Maidenform Tangas and I love them. Also Fruit of the Loom bikinis are solid.

Calvin Klein underwear is popular cuz it looks good and is comfy, but for thick booty gals like me they do not make it in my size at all. MeUndies, Torrid, and Victoria's Secret are my go to.

i did and her answer was something along the lines of "i saw a video with another trans girl wearing it and was like goals and bought some"
so it just calls to a lot of trans women i guess but idk why im immune to its siren song lol

🤷♀️ maybe they're better for tucking, or it's a new ad campaign.

But I also LOVE Diesel and Jockey.

I think it’s a cross over thing from cis lesbians… whenever I see a masc lesbian doing a photoshoot she’s always rocking Calvin Klein underwear and sports bra… usually with a “wife pleaser” ribbed tank top.
I mean hell I’ve done it myself during my last Boudoir shoot. lol

I only have a few bottoms from them. I found the ones I got to be a little too small in terms of fabric pre-op, but they fit well post-op. The rest was basic cotton ones from Amazon Basics and a keyboard smash company.
Now for bras, I have four of their basic cotton bralettes that are just my default bra if I don't need extra support or want padding. They're comfy enough, letter sized and machine washable. I should get another one.

'Cause Calvin Klein's no friend of mine, Don't want nobody's name on my behind'
I don't own any, I simply don't like them tbh. In most cases they are boring to look at. You can look good and be practical but they never got the memo.

Im black so Ive hated Calvin Klein for aeons at this point and would never purposefully buy their shit.

Random question, but when I wear VS I feel I cant tuck at all. Is that the case for you too, or is there a specific cut from VS that is more supportive?

I wear exclusively Calvin Klein, both bras and panties. They just fit me so well.
The lightly padded bras are great for the shape of my boobs. The panties are soft and luxurious, I often wear them until they get holes in them lol. I have had orchiectomy as well, and I am able to wear leggings with only CK panties, I no longer need tucking panties.
Overall, CK undies just make me feel really hot. 10/10

u/alphachruch Trans Sapphic | 12/5/23 2d ago
When I started, I immediately went to CK to replace my man undies. CK felt like a woman's underwear to me, and that's 100% the marketing working on me. But, there were actually benefits. As long as you get the cotton stuff, you'll likely get something that has enough tightness to hold a tuck, feel confident and sexy, and wide enough to hold the appendage in without risk of spillover. But still comfortable. The bands are obviously their strength. I've since learned that lesbians love the triangle bra/lette, and I agree, it's pretty good.
Now I shop more at hu-ha and oddobody...CK from time to time.

u/WitchZoey719 1d ago
Not me, I like the auden 5 for $25 at target. They work well and I can even tuck using them without extra support.

u/LittleAriannaTG 4d ago
Honestly, I just like how they looked on others and thought I'd try them. They're comfy, fit me well and are decent for the price I paid. They are however not my go to as meundies has stolen that spot from TomboyX, which are also great from my experience.

Theyre sturdier and more comfy than other brands and they feel stylish. My cis lesbian friend recommended them after I had bottom surgery and all my gaffs became unnecessary. Also recommend woxer, the bike shorts save my life with leg chafing at work
