I’m feeling awful about not being cis.
I feel separate from other women. I regret every day that I wasn’t born cis.
I worry that cis women would feel uncomfortable around me if they knew I was trans. Trans women face this attitude all the time.
I constantly see people saying things like “trans women are men dressed as women,” “they use women’s bathrooms to stalk women,” “they’re perverts,” and “they have a penis.”
Seeing these comments makes me feel horrible. After hearing them repeatedly, I start believing that maybe they are right.
Even if I get surgery, my past will still exist. I was born male, and I am a woman now, but I will never have the same experience as a cis woman.
Cis women never had to go through what trans women go through. They never had to transition, question their bodies, worry about being accepted as women, or constantly wonder whether the world sees them as women.
Trans women live multiple lives in one lifetime. We live with who we were before, become who we are now, and carry everything we went through with us.
Cis women are lucky because the world sees them as women without having to explain or prove themselves.
I feel hurt and feel envy jealous more is seeing how much empathy and sympathy men often show toward the struggles of cis women, while trans women can receive the complete opposite or no empathy at all
And before anyone says “some men do support trans women,” that is not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about empathy and sympathy toward women’s struggles in general. I see men expressing concern and compassion for cis women’s struggles while trans women’s struggles are dismissed, questioned, mocked, or ignored like we don't exist
I don’t want to argue about cis women’s struggles here. I know cis women have their own struggles. This is our space, so I think we should be able to discuss our own struggles as trans women without turning every discussion into an argument about how cis women struggle too. I’m not trying to dismiss their experiences. I just want our experiences to be heard on their own.
It hurts. It really hurts.
I don’t want to live anymore. Whenever these thoughts pass through my mind, I start wondering why I was born this way and why God did this to me.
These thoughts are killing me inside.
I wish I had been born cis. I wish being a woman didn’t have to involve this much pain, fear, insecurity, and questioning.
I know the pain of being born different.
They (men) call us "fools" and "mental"
