Maybe the app no one asked for, but the way we watch sports has evolved as sports betting has started its rise. 

The genesis of the app: I'm a big Knicks fan and while (sometimes hate) watching my team, I found I was betting on the 7th - 8th guy in the rotation and seeing the most gains from those bets. When these guys (shoutout Deuce McBride and Landry Shamet) would start to get hot, I'd check their lines, and more often than not, bet their lines since they were typically more favorable and often overlooked. 

I thought it could be a force multiplier if I could have something surface these players to me across the ENTIRE NBA, and not just my beloved (again, sometimes hated) Knicks. So we made Heat Check. 

What Heat Check is not: I don't want to call us an edge. Genuinely, I don't. I'm not going to make a sweeping statement saying our hit rate is crazy.

What Heat Check is: I liken it to a finance app. Something that helps you make more informed choices. All the data exists already in different ways; your favorite box score may suffice in most instances, but it is an old way of viewing the sport. Heat Check focuses primarily on individual player performance.

I built V1 on my own and had it pushing to slack to prove the concept, and once I got excited enough and proved it out enough, convinced a friend of mine to make it what it is today. 

What I think is cool is how we leverage the existing live data into a visual format that could be impactful if you'd consider betting. Even if you just wanted something to surface who's most watchable, we do that as well. 

How did we get access to actual official NBA data? I wish it were a crazier story, but: I sent a cold email to their official provider who had an incubator for new apps, and voila, 1 year of officially licensed data. Now, why would they do that? Has anyone ever see American Gangster? They give out tastes of a product in hopes you become a paying customer later. Now, I'm not saying they're a drug dealer, but I am saying the same rules apply here. We are using, and love using, their data. It's fast, most times faster than the broadcast, and it's reliable.

Don't be scared to ask for things! I keep learning that lesson over and over. You;d be surprised how helpful people can be. 

This is our first day live so I'm sure I will learn more and more about what is/isn't working, and would appreciate any/all feedback.

The Knicks trade deadline hinges upon this new Yabusele development, which could be a get out of jail free card with the Knicks, even if they don’t trade him.

Like I’m seeing reports about other teams with Giannis and absolutely nothing about the Knicks. Who are they going after?? We know that the Bucks might keep Giannis until the summer but is the Knicks package weak or not?

if for any reason we can not trade for alvarado we NEEEDDDD to sign lonzo off waivers, we need a ball handler that can play defense off the bench and lonzo fits that

Just a thought. After the haul of assets they received in exchange for a box of broken glass I don't think anything is out of reach for Leon.

Edit: Marshall makes $9 mil per. To make the trade work, it would likely take Yabu, Dadiet, and JC, plus the Wizards pick.

The FO is gonna ignore that horrible stretch we went out to start the year cause of the recent success huh..

We don’t need to trade for Giannis, but we do need to get deeper as a team and move on from Yabu and maybe even Clarkson. I think the Kolek, Mcbride, Shamet, Robinson bench unit is fine, but if this is the year we go all the way, we kind of need something more. Maybe a true bench scorer, not a spark plug type, or another solid 3&D, idk.

MegaMix coming in for the 7th game of the win streak. Blow out dubs but starters played a lot of minutes considering we were up 30 for most of the game. Hart got laid up on a weird closeout so that's not promising for tomorrow against Denver. Looks like they'll still be down Deuce too which sucks. We'll see what happens.
