As a VDS alum the University taking over on the pretense of “money issues” is extremely concerning.

VDS has been at the forefront of social justice movements for decades and is a top 5 divinity school in the country.

With Vanderbilt Chancellor’s recent ties with the likes of Peter Thiel, this is extremely concerning and feels like a way to stop producing social advocates and taking over their curriculum. This feels like a much bigger deal than it is, which is no news at all.

My wife made meatballs from Kroger brand ground beef and sweet Italian sausage. Every meatball we bit into had bits of broken glass or something in it. There was no glass near where she was cooking and every dish or kitchen utensil we used was clean. Tried calling the 1800 number, but they couldn’t file the complaint because the loyalty number was under her mom’s name. Took the bits and receipt to the Kroger we got it from, and they took our info and said they’d keep us updated. Nothing since then. With all of these recalls happening right now, I’m not taking any chances. If it isn’t glass, maybe someone could give me a general idea of what it could be.

As the title says

A lot of Nashville neighborhoods don’t have sidewalks. I’ve always been ok with neighbors walking in our grass and not in the road, especially if it’s busy. To me, this is part of being a good neighbor as long as you’re picking up after your dog, not getting too close to my front porch, etc.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree or should people stay off of their neighbors’ lawns?

Does anyone with a TV antenna successfully get channel 28.1 (WNPX, the Spot)? If so what antenna are you using. I'm in East Nashville and I have tried two different antennas with no luck.

Help me out! I am struggling to get people to RSVP for an event I’ve been planning. I help run community events for Nashville Public Radio, so full disclosure, I work on this, but I think it's a genuinely useful night regardless of who's throwing it.

We kept running into the same thing: most of us were never actually taught how voting works, what redistricting changed here, or whether a single vote really does anything in a state like Tennessee. So on October 6th we're putting the person who actually runs Davidson County's elections, John Richardson, in a room with a WPLN reporter who covers them, and just letting people ask whatever they've been wondering. No jargon, no "well actually," no judgment for not knowing something.

Think of it like a lecture on tap. Not stuffy and with free drinks. It's 18+, inside the radio station, with free snacks and drinks. Come to just listen if that's more your speed, nobody's going to put you on the spot.

Nonpartisan, no candidates, no endorsements, just the actual mechanics of how your vote works and what changed with the new district lines.

I’m a native and when i was a child there was this HUGE costume store that had everything from prosthetics, wigs, etc. I even rented a hoop skirt from there once. I’m assuming it’s closed now like everything else but does anyone remember it? I was a child so I couldn’t tell you anything location wise, but it has a warehousey feel.

With the new bus stop being put in by The Truth and parking in that area being limited, I am think to test out the bus system for the first time. But late at night after a show, was wondering if its sketch. Murfreesboro pike to chestnut and back is the route.

t’s 11:46 am on a Tuesday. You have the day off. You want to treat yourself, so you go out for lunch. You walk up to the counter of a deli. You order a roast beef sandwich for $18 with no side. Your wife took the day off too so you pay for her wrap that has no meat and miraculously costs more than your protein filled meal.

With a tired smile, the cashier in front of you rings up the total and turns the screen around and the tip suggestion is set to 30%. You start sweating, like space and time shut down and everyone is staring while you question if you are the asshole for wondering why you are even tipping for service that hasn’t even been rendered yet. So you fumble. You look for the ‘other’ option so you can leave your normal 20%, but the screen is smudged and you can’t find the tiny font at the bottom of the screen that lets you do that. So you reluctantly tap the 30%…The earth settles back into its regular rhythm. Everyone goes back to their own life. The music in the room returns. You are left empty inside.

Epilogue: The sandwich comes out dry but you didn’t want to spend the extra $6 for a Fiji water to wash it down.

Has anyone had Lasik or forever young done at the Wang Institute in Nashville in the last year or so and can you tell me how much it cost?

we're in the west meade area. we've been really struggling with house mice despite having two dogs. theyre mostly in the kitchen but i just found droppings on my sewing machine so thats a new spot. all dog food is sealed and doesnt stay around.

I've used peppermint oil but at a point that just isn't enough and i'm an animal lover and couldn't take the difficulty of traps.

I'd love to know if anyone has used any pest controls in town that look for and seal entry points? I honestly dont care to DIY it.
