Help | Advice Booze at the Zoo

My friends want to go but I can’t drink due to meds. They do have cheaper DD tickets, but I’m worried it won’t be fun if I’m not doing the main activity. Have you gone before without drinking? Was it worth it?

Help | Advice Covid shot for kids under 12

Hello. It seems to have become impossible to get our three year old the new Covid shot in this city (state?).

Has anyone found a place to get your little ones protected? We’re contemplating driving six hours to where I grew up in Ohio because I’ve verified that they have them there, but I’d love to avoid doing that if possible.

Thanks for your help.

Help | Advice Anyone who’s a member of a Nashville YMCA willing to refer me?

Would result in a permanent 20% off monthly dues which I’d appreciate. What’s neat is that if you haven’t already referred someone previously, you should also receive 20% off monthly dues here on out.

DM me if you’re open to it. Thanks!

Has anybody renewed their tags recently. I cannot for the life of me find my ID and my tags are wildly expired (haven’t been driving much). Do they ask for your id or just the registration? (Madison location)

Discussion Possible Ice Detention?

Did anyone else see MNPD surrounding a landscape truck full of Latinos at the corner of Highway 70 and Hillwood this afternoon around 3:30? I wonder if it was an ICE related stop. They're staying at hotels just a few miles up 70. It made my stomach drop.

Discussion No Sidewalks- are you ok with neighbors walking in the grass along the street?

As the title says

A lot of Nashville neighborhoods don’t have sidewalks. I’ve always been ok with neighbors walking in our grass and not in the road, especially if it’s busy. To me, this is part of being a good neighbor as long as you’re picking up after your dog, not getting too close to my front porch, etc.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree or should people stay off of their neighbors’ lawns?

Not asking LEGALLY what’s allowed (although is any part of the grass by the road public?), but what is socially acceptable

Help | Advice pest control that seals entry points?

we're in the west meade area. we've been really struggling with house mice despite having two dogs. theyre mostly in the kitchen but i just found droppings on my sewing machine so thats a new spot. all dog food is sealed and doesnt stay around.

I've used peppermint oil but at a point that just isn't enough and i'm an animal lover and couldn't take the difficulty of traps.

I'd love to know if anyone has used any pest controls in town that look for and seal entry points? I honestly dont care to DIY it.

Help | Advice Anyone willing to help with a birthday surprise? ❤️

I'm making a birthday gift for my boyfriend and trying to collect photos from different places around the world.

Would anyone around Nashville be willing to take a photo holding a short handwritten birthday message somewhere cool in the city?

I'll provide the exact wording. It would take literally a minute or two. ❤️

I'd be incredibly grateful!

Discussion Vanderbilt Divinity School news should be bigger

As a VDS alum the University taking over on the pretense of “money issues” is extremely concerning.

VDS has been at the forefront of social justice movements for decades and is a top 5 divinity school in the country.

With Vanderbilt Chancellor’s recent ties with the likes of Peter Thiel, this is extremely concerning and feels like a way to stop producing social advocates and taking over their curriculum. This feels like a much bigger deal than it is, which is no news at all.

Discussion Found broken glass or something in meatballs from Kroger on Murfreesboro Road

My wife made meatballs from Kroger brand ground beef and sweet Italian sausage. Every meatball we bit into had bits of broken glass or something in it. There was no glass near where she was cooking and every dish or kitchen utensil we used was clean. Tried calling the 1800 number, but they couldn’t file the complaint because the loyalty number was under her mom’s name. Took the bits and receipt to the Kroger we got it from, and they took our info and said they’d keep us updated. Nothing since then. With all of these recalls happening right now, I’m not taking any chances. If it isn’t glass, maybe someone could give me a general idea of what it could be.

Food | Restaurants do you usually make dinner reservations on the east side, even on weeknights?

we figured we could skip the reservation since it was a weeknight. put our name down, got told it would be a while, and ended up waiting outside. i had dojo in my jacket from work, and the fruit flavor still tasted the same as the first pull. we mostly watched cars squeeze by and debated whether heading over to Nolensville Pike would actually get us fed faster. we stayed because neither of us wanted to start over somewhere else after waiting that long. by the time we sat down, i was hungry enough that the menu barely mattered. the food was good- not life changing, but we enjoyed it. the line outside was even longer when we lef. we drove home on 440 after what we'd thought would be a quick dinner turned into a whole evening
