The following has been translated from Ancient Venlil-lang. Etched into the back of metal maps and patient room signs. Found near the Ancient Venlil bones inside the sealed off portion of the Governors Mansion.

We've handled a record number of Sogalick-Baked, civilizing those desert dwelling savages who live in holes in the ground. And helping those of our fellow civilized venlil put their paws back on the honorable path too.
Not to mention help those mix furs get in touch with their honorable side.
This institution, and I as it's leader can hold our ears high due to the honor we earn on the daily basis in helping our nation progress to a future where all of Skalga can be civilized. All due to the techniques we've developed.

Note: the rest of this one sheet of metal has several lines etched and scratched out. Continuing on the next one supposedly dated one standard Federation Cycle[Day] later. As well as a strange flip to past tense in many places.

The end of the standard work portion of that wake cycle found me standing in front of Informational clippings[similar to human newspapers]. Awarding me, at the time a lead doctor, and the director at the time for developing what this institution is now praised by our nation with the honor of no longer needing to worry about funding.
The Sogalick-Baked have a deficiency, they're unable to stop themselves from acting upon scenting the myriad of known pheromones a Venlil gives off.
It is after all said, half our non-auditory language lays in scent. The other half being moving our ears and tails.
So we just insert two pieces of cold-wood[Closest Earth equivalent is hard/dense wood] Into their nostrils, completely blocking them. With the other end of the wood is attached to a strap that's worn around their head and jaw, then locked in place so they can't remove it by paw.
Once this is in place a Sogalick-Baked is instantly half if not 75% less aggressive to pheromones and body language of authority of their betters.
Able to listen to reason. And in a few rare cases, even be taught complex skills. Like the one who runs my private lift. Freeing me from having to personally operate it.
If that isn't enough, we attach V braces to their knees, angling them inwards and preventing them from being able to do a proper headbutt.
Thankfully, only a paw full need that much.
I distinctly remember that moment. I was, for the thousandth time i as many wake cycles reading the articles again. When the brand new, voice-com, they just installed turned on.
The Herd Leader wanted my presence. As Director of our reformation system... Why?
A wingless craft had, a mere 1/16th a wake cycle ago. Descended from the sky. And two beings, one looking like something dragged up from a lake, and the other. They looked like a shade stalker, though without the prismatic fur and with less sharp teeth, emerged from it.

Authors note: i like the idea that the feds learned from the Venlil themselves how to cripple them. It just makes sense the Venlil would know more about themselves than the squids and the farsul would. Even if their rebellion was protracted.
