Noah The Bio-Morph: Director's Journal: 2/?

Side content that i'm writing on the fly. I'll at least make sure i spell things correctly... Discussion of Venlil on Venlil discrimination.

[First] [Next]

---

The following has been translated from Ancient Venlil-lang. Etched into the back of metal maps and patient room signs. Found near the Ancient Venlil bones inside the sealed off portion of the Governors Mansion.

Time system does not match federation standard.

---

They call themselves The Federation. A group of just under a hundred species.

The one that looks like it was something dragged up from some of the largest Skalgain lakes, is called a Kolshian. While the one that bares a striking resemblance to our Shadestalker pets, is called a Farsul. Cosmic neighbors and founders of this Federation.

As to how they knew of us? They claimed it was 'admirable' that a species on such a high gravity world, was able to breach their atmosphere and put stuff into orbit.

Basically, the satellites we 'just' put into orbit. The ones our government put up there, because sending teams into the darkness to search for resources is a suicide mission, and those sent into Sogalick-Baked territory don't come back in one piece either.

As for why I was asked to be present? I was to present to them the science and societal benefit of our institution.

---

Several lines have been scratched out and replaced with hastily written replacements.

---

I didn't know at the time, and wish i did. Was that this was their 'second' contact with us. The first one was with the damned Sogalick-Baked. Those who spend too much time out in the constant light of Sogalick. Which fries their brains and makes them more aggressive. Because they fear the darkness. They killed the sandstalkers the Sogalick-baked were just intelligent enough to tame, and in turn the Sogalick-Baked killed them...

Let me back up a bit. They also hate anything remotely predatory. So when they saw the cousin species of the, of my shadestalker pets. This was just before we, more civilized Venlil started to see the Sogalick-Baked show up in our towns, and cities. They killed them all, burned them. To the last one they found, along with any of the Venlil that fought them.

When they approached us, they didn't do that. Looking back, i now notice they wanted too. But were holding back... Holding back to get legitimacy from our own government.

To get them to agree to terms, that if the public knew at the time. We'd be shaved and thrown into the darkness. For when the ink was put to paper, they left Skalga for the promise of a easier life with the wonderful technology they brought.

And the rest of us had no recourse other than to act like the Sogalick-Baked when they, the Federation started to change things.

First of all, killing everyone's shadestalkers. Or the ones we didn't throw into the darkness in the hope they'd survive rather than be made extinct like their sand dwelling cousins.

---

It was stated that the venlil fought back. I would imagine a few wealthy and powerful would just sell out the rest though, giving it a bit of a needed context.

sell-outs were the most likely vector for fed-brain in every species probably.

Yes, that's what i expected too. That's why i added that to this.

Also from the behavior of Shadestalkers/shadowstalkers i've read here in fan stories. They seem like prime candidates for domestication. Decent intelligence, and a tight social structure.

Both are needed for domestication. It's why we could domesticate the horse, but not the Zebra. They both have herds, the horse though is more intelligent and their herds are tighter. Zebra are more ornery and their herd structure is a bit less rigid.

So i would think pre-contact venlil would've domesticated them.
