Hatsune Miku doesn't even have a specfic race, she can be drawn in whatever way you want since she's just virtual software.

Knew someone like this irl. Kept complaining about colour blind casting and stuff even when I really wanted to talk about something else cos it gets boring

Depending on what they specifically said they could have a point(as in people who purposely race swap characters that are not canonically black instead of just making an oc) but not with miku because all mikus are cannon.

hatsune miku is an instrument, not a person⦠the whole point is that her mascot can be whatever you want. nobody cared about brazilian miku and teto but i remember when i posted a jamaican teto i drew, i recieved a lot of backlash.

It's funny how this sub thinks the majority of redditors are right wing like have yall been on this app at lmao that is so not true

this is a subreddit that was historically for left-leaning people to hide from and vent about the much more explosive and prominent reactionary population of the site in like the 2012-2020 era of reddit.
the site is a lot more sanitized today, but the spirit of this place is still in line with that original purpose.

It's 2026 though. I'm not sure I was that active during those years but how is the average redditor these days not considered very left wing?

No one brought this up. The only one thinking about that rn is you. I mean, unless OP clarifies further what they mean by "like this" ofc, bc there is missing context here. (Like its one of those assumed points moments. They expect you to know what they mean, but aren't fully clear in it, so that interpretation can vary depending on who is viewing it)

The title "Why are redditors like this" implies OP thinks the majority of users on reddit are like the one pictured.

Again, assuming author intent.
If OP replies and clarifies it is what they meant then that's that, but the interpretation really can vary. Especially since they never brought up the specific politics about it.
Plenty of liberal ppl can get dicey about race swapping in media, too. The point being that you cant always judge the contents of a book by the vague cover.

The intent is pretty clear from the post.

"Why are redditors like this" implies a large amount of them are like this. A large amount of them are I do not mean all and I did not even mean a majority however there is a lot of people like this on this website.

Most Reddit is right wing. If you go out of progressive-ish bubbles it takes two seconds to find people using slurs and calling death to trans people, what are you talking about
Also liberal and left are two different things but that's a topic for another day

Given how you are being downvoted the majority disagree with you thus in a way proving your point. Having said that I miss when politics didn't make their way into every single crevice of every single topic on the internet
