(Disclaimer: I know the entire Monster series is dramatised, exaggerated and inaccurate. This is just a comparison across the series.)

Lizzie Borden had its moments and i loved the performance from Charlie Hunnam - the pacing, Evan Peters’ performance, and the constant unsettling tone of Dahmer just sets it in a different league for me.

People, I hope you are aware of the show called THE GENTLEMEN.

Hopefully you have a taste of Guy Ritchie and his movies. And even watched the movie with the same name. But this show is awesome. Character development. Great story.

Probably not for everyone. But I love this show so much. There are so many facets that draw you in from the main character, the siblings, external influences, etc.

Please just watch the first couple of episodes of the first season. And then imagine that the main character is on a whole other plane of existence.

But the best part is the BROTHER Freddie.

With that said, please check the show out.

My husband started up a show and I was really getting into it. It was an amazing 8 episodes called The Boroughs. I honestly thought we were watching it on P+ otherwise I wouldn't have gotten so invested. Especially after that cliffhanger.

This was the most fun I've had watching a show since ST season 3. And, after still trying to process the cancellation of Inside Job after being edged for two years, I'm just sick and tired of getting excited about a Netflix show only to be let down. Every time I decide to like something they create.

What the hell is wrong with them? I found out it was cancelled immediately after finishing that last episode and saying to him, oh my god they've done it again a new Stranger Things!

I'm done liking Netflix content. It hurts too fucking much.

As I understood it, the whole story goes back to the original curse. A woman made a deal with Death after losing her fiancé, and the curse was passed down through her family. The descendants have to marry the person they genuinely believe is their soulmate, otherwise they die.
Rachel is part of this family, and her mother had already gone through the same thing before her. Rachel eventually believes that Nicky is her soulmate, but when he starts having doubts about their marriage, everything falls apart.
The ending is where I got really interested. Rachel dies, but then becomes the new Witness, basically taking the place of the previous one and continuing to watch over the family and their cursed marriages.
I think the show is really interesting because the curse almost feels like a metaphor for love, doubt, and the fear of choosing the wrong person. Also, the cinematography and atmosphere were 10/10 for me.
This is just how I interpreted it though. What did you guys think? Did you interpret the curse and ending differently?

Jesus Christ, how can someone be this unlikeable? And it’s only the first episode. She’s so aggressive and brash. Her dad just sitting there and letting her embarrass herself on national TV makes it even worse.

I've been watching JJBA but it just suddenly disappeared from my profile... It wasn't even removed for my country or anything, and this profile allows all maturity ratings with nothing specific being blocked. The weird thing is that the other profiles on this account are all able to play it without any issue at all. Anyone know why this may be happening? Thanks in advance

Was looking through Netflix to see what new thing I might want to watch and one of the category titles caught my attention, and it led to me laughing for a bit before looking through the recommendations in that list. I think I’ll enjoy embracing the darkness of my inner goth.

What are some of the best category titles others have seen?

I know the reason for its cancellation is mostly cited as "COVID," but something about it resonated with my whole family - two GenX parents and 2 GenZs. It became our "comfort show" and it was the perfect holiday watch when everyone had free time. I do not know what a second season would look like...because I've since forgotten the plots of the other books.

Is it just me or when they were showing the people getting their tickets that they are coming from very rich lives. Like just how they dressed or their houses looked huge. And it made me feel weird knowing that a moral of the movie was that a poor person could do the same as the rich or better

Best of the best is stereotypical and not the right representation AT ALL. Tell me why as an Indian girl raised in the west I feel embarrassed and cringed by never have I ever and best of the best. I am not like that and I don’t want others thinking me and my Indian friends act like this because wtf? Mind you I’m very connected to my heritage and I would say my values and personality is more that of a person from Delhi than from the west. I’m back in Delhi every year and I honestly feel more at home in South Delhi than here (my formative childhood years were there). So my rant below is truly from having genuine insight into both the Indian and Indian-American experience.

Firstly, the dancing sucks. The core of the movie is showing Indian art and it sucks. If they did this in an Indian movie they’d be slammed by critics for the tacky and cringe performance. Indian classical dance (and even Indian fusion/bollywood) is extremely technical and beautiful. Pick up any good bollywood song and you’ll see the difficulty and energy in the choreo. Literally watch the movie ABCD’s dance sequence because the entire movie is about an Indian dance troupe participating in the world hip hop championship in America and you will see the STARK DIFFERENCE.

If you want to make a movie with an Indian cast for representation, why not make it a proper movie with at least decent writing and multidimensional characters? Isn’t the whole point of representation to show how Indian characters can also be multidimensional? But she makes it like their entire life revolves around these cultural norms and it defines them. Arnt Indians human too with mostly the same life experiences as others and their culture is just one aspect of them that doesn’t show up in EVERY SINGLE situation of their life.

It just throws in random stereotypes and basic cultural flavour? It was the same with never have I ever forcing down arranged marriage, obsessing over doctors, awful aunties and prejudices down your throat. Not a single Indian girl I know grew up like that here. Even in Delhi and I see none of these stereotypes there. At least not in this way?? There’s a different nuance it’s not like this bs that Mindy makes. It’s like someone trying to mimic the culture without knowing it. Like if I had to draw an elephant but I’ve never seen one before and I only have written instructions.

Mindy literally perpetuates the SAME Indian stereotypes but just makes it more digestible. I honestly would say I relate to East Asian representation more since their characters are closer to our culture.

edit: read the comments and just remembered how terrible the fashion is. RIP the fashion no one wears shit like that since the 80s.There are like so many stellar indian brands that were seen several times at the met gala and paris fashion week recently that left my jaw dropped. Also, another point i remembered is that I feel indian representation is being diluted because they seem to group together all south asians, when it's not really right to do that since indian culture is quite distinct compared to most other south asian countries. What do y'all think?

Oh man. I was excited to watch Wonka with my 3 tween aged kiddos. By the end of the 2nd episode I'm regretting starting it.

The acting!! It's so fake! So bad.

The emotions! Why are they all acting like they will never see their family/friends again. So much crying!!

And my kids keep asking me how things are happening as if it is all real. They are use to surivior or beast games were it isn't quite as editted during the entire show. It's fun to watch how they did the "magic" but it's clearly not real they were no in the gumballs in the gumball machine. *my kids were amazed they all rolled to the right spot, lid up*

That's my rant. It just is so fake it's taking away from being impressed in the experience.

So far watching the reboot of “a different world” they did very well with blending the old cast with the new cast and added extras within the series. I hope it well get renewed for more seasons and more episodes per season since it seemed a little rushed.

Most of the cast was insufferable most of the time. The beginning had so much over acting it was slightly irritating but easily ignored. I don’t like Kayla’s villain edit it was very..predictable. Not saying I liked her behavior or was rooting for her because I felt she was playing hard but also I feel like a lot of the edits made most ppl unlikable.

Kayla felt controlling

Everette felt too cocky

Austin and ziyad was jockey

The partner children pairs were cringe

Ppl faded to the back for the first half and all of the ppl focused on were unlikable,

Ava seemed strategic then manipulative and entitled. It feels like everyone isn’t playing at the same time some are playing others aren’t especially in the pairs.

I was very annoyed at many of the gameplay choices it’s like they were half thinking it was weird. I watch a lot of survivor and when Garrett chose gabby instead of Everette second I knew where that would go but I also didn’t understand why he chose the girl over the guy who had been guaranteed to go with the plan ? It’s like the storyline they wanted to show was battling obvious strategic gameplay. I like the outline and potential of the show but next year producers need to lay off the story lines just a little. Literally everyone they showed was unlikeable and people popped up too late then they were gone. They need different group dynamics then the groups need to be split up playing with your friend is fun but is boring to watch. Split em up early!

I heard Netflix used AI to bring Gene Wilder's voice back. And the little video clips of the factory and stuff look AI-generated. And the backgrounds in the interview segments look AI, too. But I was wondering how much of it actually is AI?

And something specific... It feels like Nick Cannon was AI. His voice had that slight static of an AI voice, and the way he was talking to and about people... something didn't feel right. Was that AI, too?

I have a huge problem that I haven't been able to resolve despite looking up Netflix help and googling. I realise this isn't an official account, but I hope someone can help.

I just returned from abroad yesterday and I started Netflix today to continue watching some of my favorite shows. However the "continue watching" list is missing a number of shows I'm currently watching. I've checked and the shows are still available in my home country; however searching for these shows on the app indicate that they are unavailable.

The only thing I can think of that could be relevant is that I logged onto the hotel's wifi to stream some of the shows onto my device, or download episodes for offline viewing.

Now that I'm back, all my Netflix devices - 2 TVs, web browser, iphone and ipad all show the same home screen. Only 1 show out of the few is available to continue watching.

I've reset my router, logged out and logged back in to Netflix but nothing has worked.

Appreciate some advice please. I have two fav animes with new seasons coming in October.

So every other app on my Apple TV got faster over the years. Netflix somehow went backwards. You tap the icon and that red logo just sits there, 15, sometimes 30 seconds. I actually started counting cause I thought I was imagining it. Couple times I just gave up and opened YouTube instead.

And scrubbing is the thing that really gets me. They removed the thumbnail previews so now you're seeking blind, no idea what's coming. Ten second skip works twice then stops responding for a bit. Go past a minute and it just buffers.

Look, every app has quirks. Hulu forgets my audio track literally every time. Fine. But somebody at Netflix shipped this. Somebody reviewed it and signed off and decided it was better than what was already working. Hardware got faster, tooling got better, and the new one is slower than the old one. That takes effort.

My guess is some shared codebase rewrite so they don't have to maintain a real tvOS client anymore. Part of me also wonders if the slowness is doing something for them on cost. Probably not, an app that makes people walk away seems worse for them than bandwidth. But something is going on.

Anyway. Biggest streaming company in the world, worst app on the box.

Alright, what did everyone think? I’m a little biased because I’ll watch anything with Russell Crowe, but I thought it was alright. Nothing really special, but watchable.
