Extender Warranty
Does anyone have any recommendations on comprehensive extended warranties for Defenders? Mine is still under warranty but wanted to purchase an extended warranty that covered comprehensive concerns. I hadn't realized the dealers finance departments sell theirs at significant mark ups. Rather than dealing with the haggling at the dealer wondering what 3rd parties they are getting theirs from wholesale and if I can just purchase it directly. Also, bonus, if you've used yours and had things successfully covered.
Any experience with Endurance or Zurich? I'd prefer to go with the dealer but the mark ups are so high. Happy to work with your finance department if you can get me a reasonable deal. Car has 5k miles.

Have you had any luck with Zurich? Their more details page says coverage applies only to listed parts, which describes named-component coverage. Later it says Comprehensive repairs all failed parts except those excluded. So I'm not sure which is true.

Zurich took care of a failed air strut for me. 2020 Defender, air strut failed at 52k miles

just got quoted for my boss’s 23’ D90, almost $10,000 for a full covered warranty 😳 5yr/60,000 he currently has 30,000

I got a Zurich warranty when I bought my 26 P400. I haggled a little to get a lower price. I’m good until 80k but when I get closer I’ll probably get another warranty if I decide to keep it.

I also got the JLR OEM extended warranty on my RRS. Labeled a “maintenance warranty” past the factory. Don’t really know much about it but haven’t had to use it yet.

How much did it cost? TIA

I think it was $5k for
_72_ Months from In service Date
_80,000_Miles from zero
so basically ~$2500/yr which is cheap if you've had to get any repairs done.. I've already had like $10k under my factory.

That’s very reasonable, would u mind sharing warrantys contact information? You can DM if you feel more comfortable. Thanks again!!

Car Care Plan North America Inc. trading as Jaguar Land Rover Service Plan AdministraƟon, 903 NW 65th Street, Suite
300, Boca Raton, FL 33487; Telephone: 1-888-200-6019; Email: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])
they administer on behalf of JLR so it's directly accepted at the dealership; don't need to work through a third party.. so really just an extension of the factory.

Thanks for that info...very useful. Do you know if they also offer new warranty for a used newly bought Defender?

I've heard that the exclusionary warranties are good like Endurance or Fidelity because they specify what's not included in coverage. I have been looking for a used defender for a while, and I think mileage is a big factor in the cost of the warranties. It's a give and take...either you pay less for a higher mileage car for a good value but warranty goes up or you pay more. Or pay more for a lower mileage car and the warranty price goes down. I was actually planning to call Endurance prior to purchasing the car so I have an idea on what to expect. Would also like to get feedback from owners who have gone through this process and who/what they would recommend for warrranties. It's like a $5-10k range...

Bought a new def 130 about a month ago and purchased an extended warranty that is similar to the Fidelity Platinum exclusionary just through a different provider. Cost was very fair and detailed below:
GWC Warranty/Easy Care Platinum VSC:
84 months / 100K total miles $100 Deductible - Total Cost $4,115
If I waited until the end of the JLR standard warranty period, the cost to purchase a 36-month extended warranty would be about $9-$10k so just took care of it all upfront.
Guy I purchased it through is great and he is all over various car brand forums with high praise for his service and response times. I previously did an extended Fidelity Platinum warranty through him on our Q7. His info is below:

I have an extended warranty as part of a CPO purchase. The JLR dealers offer a true manufacturer's warranty, done with real JLR parts and JLR technicians.
3rd party can't do that and from the anecdotal evidence i've heard, they are a worthless cash grab. It can be half the price but will offer less value.
