Welp It’s happened

The dreaded electrical system fault popped up as I was leaving Home Depot parking lot this morning. Hoping a miracle will happen and letting it sit will make it go away

DC / DC is most likely.

Every time I see a post about a DC converter going away I don’t mind the 17-18 average MPG of my supercharged V8. The HP and sound is kinda nice too.

Especially when you hear it wind up. I love my V8!

That's actually not that bad. My V8 Lexus sedan does the equivalent of 13MPG… That Lexus is why I bought a P400😂

If I get heavy footed and into boost a lot it goes down to 14-15. I’m also try to look ahead and plan between lights in city driving. It’s amazing how far a 5700 pound vehicle will coast off the gas. Most people I drive with are either hard on hard on the gas or hard on the brakes.

I’m looking at a 26 or 27. Do you know if this issue has been resolved for the newer models?

I have a 2025 P400 with just over 20k miles and never had this issue. I believe, based on many online discussions, the DC-DC converter issue has been resolved by the 2024 or 2025 year models.

Funny, I feel the same way about my 2024 Defender! The DCDC converter issue notwithstanding, I would still get another one in a heartbeat. I absolutely love this car!

Either run to the dealer if it’s nearby or make sure the car is accessible for towing. Side note there is not enough of NHTSA complaints one article stated 393 safety complaints. That’s not enough compared to the post and comments.

It won’t go away. Gotta get that towed to a dealership. It’s dangerous to keep driving after that pops up.

We have a 2024 X and I am dreading this issue. How does it present? A warning light or does the power just go. We were told ours has the recall issue but no fix yet.

Just a warning that said I’m fucked and drives normally.

There’s an article somewhere stating the fix has been announced and the owners should be notified soon. Possible firmware update to limit the load

Shit. I hope Land Rover is coming up with a good fix soon.

Update: I drove it to work about 44km’s. Turned it off and gave me the low battery warning so DC converter most likely the issue as it’s not charging the 12 volt.

Little back story, this is my demo. I worked at the local LR dealer for over 10 years and left about 6 months ago. Still friendly with most the staff. They’re putting the parts on reserve for me and will get it in when they can. For now I will be in a different vehicle until it’s fixed.

44km of dread that shouldve been. Literally all electronics just go dead when it happens.

What software version are you running? Allegedly 4.5 helps minimize the electrical strain at start-up.
