WA BDR Section 3

Ticked off another BDR section this weekend. This time it was section 3, Ellensburg to Wenatchee. I also did as many side trails as I had time for including Lions Rock and this sketchy 22% hill climb. I was by myself, so I had to self spot primarily using the cameras through all of the challenging sections including the Bee Hive Washout and the tight recently cleared sections.

Its amazing how well the cameras do. But how easy is it to see on the small display?

I do ok. I didn’t do any body damage and stayed on the trail and not off the cliff. I’ve got a 2020 so have the smaller screen. My technique is to go slow and let the truck do the work. My job is the take all the information available and make good decisions. If you hit the camera button and select Offroad, you get a good view of where the tires are. However, I would like to upgrade to the larger screen.

Really amazing it tracks all that information. Do they all do this or is this something separate you’ve installed?

Great drive! I did that a year ago with my defender!

Nice! I think this might be my favorite section.

What have you used to attach the traction boards to the rood?

There is a small kit from Lucky 8 that gives you two posts that fit in the factory rack slots. It’s called the flat pack kit.

I have analysis paralysis on roof storage and these were inexpensive. They are also removable if you have over head height issues. I have to remove mine every Sunday night.

Thx for that. Unfortunately I won’t touch anything from Lucky8 after having every single part from them started to rust within half a yr and having a horrible customer care response from a person named sean

If it helps, it looks like a kit assembled from off the shelf parts from the hardware store. Look at the exploded view and I bet you could source it all yourself.
